This position will be WFO, but you will be working closely with the teams in the United States and Canada through video chat, instant messaging, e-mail, phone, and our software. Summary
The Server Engineer (L3) is responsible for the stability, security, and performance of on-premises and cloud-based server environments, including Azure. This role owns server lifecycle management, backups, monitoring, Active Directory, cloud infrastructure, and escalation-level troubleshooting.
Server Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows, Linux, and Azure servers
- Deploy and manage Virtual Machines (VMs) in Azure or any other interface.
- Configure Azure storage, networking, and security settings
- Troubleshoot Azure VM performance, connectivity, and availability issues
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and server roles
- Administer file servers and application servers
- Perform patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation
- Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox)
Azure & Cloud Networking
- Configure and maintain Site-to-Site VPN tunnels between on-prem and Azure
- Troubleshoot VPN connectivity, routing, and tunnel stability issues
- Work with Azure VNets, subnets, NSGs, and routing tables
- Support hybrid identity and hybrid infrastructure deployments
Server Health Monitoring
- Monitor uptime, CPU, RAM, disk, and service health
- Investigate system errors and failed services
- Ensure DNS, DHCP, AD, and file services are operational
Backup & Recovery
- Verify daily backups using Veeam Backup & Replication and Backblaze
- Log backup success/failure and remediate issues immediately
- Perform backup restorations and disaster recovery testing
Security & Compliance
- Apply server and Azure hardening best practices
- Maintain access controls and permissions
- Assist with audits, compliance requirements, and disaster recovery planning
Documentation
- Maintain server and Azure documentation, SOPs, and Knowledge Base articles
Additional good to know skills
Domain & SSL Management
- Manage DNS records (A, MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Handle SSL procurement, renewal, and installation
Microsoft 365 & Exchange Administration
