SEO/GEO Engineer

Jiffy is looking for an SEO / GEO Engineer to build and scale organic growth as a durable, compounding acquisition engine. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, data, and search strategy, and will be responsible for how Jiffy is discovered across traditional search engines and emerging generative search experiences.

As we move from product-led growth to marketing-led scale, organic discovery both classic SEO and generative engine optimization (GEO) is critical. You’ll own the technical foundation, information architecture, and experimentation roadmap that allow Jiffy to win high-intent discovery for creators, small businesses, and entrepreneurs.

This role is ideal for someone who loves systems, scale, and impact—and wants to shape the future of search at a fast-growing eCommerce company.

This role follows a hybrid work model with a requirement of a minimum of three (3) days per week onsite. Employees should expect to work regularly from the office to support collaboration and business needs.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Own and scale Jiffy’s organic search strategy across traditional SEO and emerging generative search platforms (AI-powered search, answer engines, LLM-driven discovery).
• Build and maintain a strong technical SEO foundation, including site architecture, crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and internal linking.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to ship SEO-impactful improvements and ensure organic discovery is considered early in the development process.
• Design and implement programmatic SEO initiatives to capture long-tail demand at scale (categories, use cases, templates, applications).
• Develop and optimize structured content and data that improves visibility in featured snippets, rich results, and generative answers.
• Analyze organic performance using Search Console, analytics platforms, and custom datasets to identify growth opportunities and technical issues.
• Run SEO experiments and tests (templates, schema, internal linking, page structure) and measure impact through clear hypotheses and results.
• Collaborate with content, paid media, and lifecycle teams to align SEO with broader demand creation efforts.
• Monitor search algorithm updates, AI search trends, and competitive movements, adapting strategy as the landscape evolves.
• Clearly communicate SEO priorities, performance, and learnings to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in technical SEO, SEO engineering, or growth engineering roles.
• Strong understanding of how search engines crawl, index, rank, and generate results.
• Hands-on experience with technical SEO: site architecture, schema/structured data, internal linking, and performance optimization.
• Comfortable working with data: Google Search Console, analytics tools, and spreadsheets or SQL.
• Ability to collaborate closely with engineers and translate SEO needs into technical requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a test-and-learn mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with programmatic SEO at scale.
• Familiarity with GEO concepts: optimizing content and structured data for AI-driven and generative search experiences.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (or ability to read and debug).
• Experience with large or complex eCommerce sites.
• Comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to advocate for SEO across the organization.

What We Offer

The base compensation for this role is expected to range from $130,000 to $170,000 per year. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.

Total compensation may include base salary, performance-based bonuses, equity, and benefits. Final offers are tailored to each candidate and take into consideration their background and years of experience.
