Purpose of the role
Lead the wholesale and origination for strategic accounts in Belgium - with the scope extended to the Benelux. Direct line to the CEO and B2B Director and regular interaction with the trading/sourcing desk.
Major accounts
- Very large industrials (> 25GWh/y power or gas; grid- or transmission-connected)
- Independent producers (wind, biomass, cogen, hydro, storage)
- Independent retailers/wholesalers (Belgium or Benelux, aligned to your remit)
Energy products
- Non-vanilla structures: cap/floor & option overlays; tailored indexations (e.g., Henry Hub, electricity-linked gas for cogen, sector indices); Corporate PPAs; baseload block + spot overlays; quarter-hour nomination features; flexibility valuation (demand response, storage)
Essential responsibilities
- Build executable pricing and hedging stacks aligned with risk appetite in co-design with trading/sourcing
- Translate needs into clear commercial/technical term sheets; steer internal governance to approval; negotiate to signature; clean handover with guardrails to Risk/Legal/Ops
- Targeted C-level hunting; map the landscape, open board-level doors, cultivate consultants/partners, and maintain a forward deal pipeline
- Manage the top origination & wholesale tier
- 10+ years experience in closing complex wholesale/origination transactions in power & gas, existing Benelux network is a strong plus
- Deep command of markets, options/hedging, balancing & nominations, flexibility and shaping
- Ability to present recent structured deals
- Fluent Dutch, English and French
