The Coleridge Initiative is a nonprofit organization, focused on applied data analytics research for public policy at the federal and state level. At Coleridge, we work with government agencies to create value by providing public agencies with the opportunity to enhance their workforce data literacy to develop better policies for the public good. We facilitate the development of collaborations within and across states allowing for new technologies to be developed through the secure access to and sharing of confidential microdata.
As Coleridge enters a new phase—from building and proving to scaling and sustaining—the Senior Vice President, Partnerships and Market Development (SVP) will serve as a strategic leader dedicated to expanding Coleridge’s reach, influence, and financial sustainability.
Summary
The SVP of Partnerships and Market Development will unify Coleridge’s external growth functions; communications, partnerships, revenue and sustainability model design, and user experience—under a cohesive vision and strategy. Working closely with the CEO and executive team, this leader will ensure that Coleridge’s offerings, brand, and sustainability model evolve in step with opportunities to expand the organization’s mission reach and impact.
Essential Job Functions
Strategic Growth Leadership
- Partner with the CEO and executive team to define and execute a unified growth strategy that advances Coleridge’s mission and long-term sustainability.
- Translate organizational goals into actionable strategies across marketing, partnerships, pricing, and product innovation.
- Identify and cultivate emerging opportunities for revenue diversification, investment, and mission-aligned innovation.
Marketing & Communications & Brand Strategy
- Lead Coleridge’s brand positioning, and messaging to strengthen its reputation as a trusted national leader in data integration and evidence-based policymaking.
- Ensure consistent, compelling storytelling that connects Coleridge’s technical work to real-world policy impact.

Oversee thought leadership, media relations, and external communications strategies that elevate Coleridge’s voice and influence in the data and policy ecosystem.
Partnerships & Advocacy
- Build and manage high-impact relationships across government, philanthropy, academia, and industry.
- Develop and execute partnership and advocacy strategies that advance supportive data-sharing and evidence-building environments.

Oversee partnership development from identification and cultivation through contracting, delivery, and long-term stewardship.
Pricing & Business Models, and Market Development
- Lead strategy for pricing and packaging of Coleridge’s products and services to balance mission alignment, financial sustainability, and market competitiveness.
- Evaluate and pilot new business models and earned revenue opportunities consistent with Coleridge’s values and capabilities.
- Partner with Finance and Programs to ensure business model decisions support long-term financial and operational goals.
Funding & Investment
- Identify and secure new funding and investment mechanisms (e.g., program-related investments, innovation funds, strategic joint ventures).
- Strengthen relationships with funders and business partners by articulating the social and economic value of Coleridge’s data infrastructure and capacity-building work.
- Align growth-oriented funding with long-term sustainability and impact metrics.
User Experience (UX) and Product Design
- Guide human-centered design processes to ensure Coleridge’s products and services meet user needs and deliver meaningful impact.
- Collaborate with the Product and Technology teams to integrate user insights into product roadmaps and service design.

Champion a culture of continuous learning from users, partners, and clients to inform growth decisions.
Leadership & Management
- Oversee a cross-functional portfolio encompassing Marketing & Communications, Partnerships & Advocacy, and Engagement teams.
- Mentor and support senior leaders, providing strategic direction while empowering autonomy and creativity within their domains.
- Serve as a key member of the Executive Team, aligning growth initiatives with operational capacity and organizational health.
Qualifications

15+ years of progressive leadership experience with proven track record of driving mission-aligned growth in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment (public sector, nonprofit, or social enterprise experience preferred).
- Graduate degree or higher in Statistics, Economics, or Public Policy, required.
- Demonstrated success integrating marketing, partnerships, and revenue strategy into a cohesive organizational growth model.
- Deep understanding of the policy, data, and evidence ecosystem; ability to translate technical work into compelling narratives.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop interdisciplinary teams, including staff development and performance management.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, relationship management, and communication skills.
- Commitment to Coleridge’s mission and to equitable, data-driven policy innovation.
- Demonstrated ability to set and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), monitor progress, and provide clear, actionable feedback.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to lead through influence and foster trust with internal and external stakeholders.
- A leadership style grounded in integrity, accountability, and mission alignment, with a history of contributing to and driving organizational strategy and impact.

This is a remote-based position. Work may be programmed for weekdays, weekends, and evenings. Some travel is required.
