Overview of the Role 

  • The Senior Vice President (VP) of Business Intelligence owns the vision, strategy, operating model, data assets, tools, governance, and talent required to deliver best-in-class analytics, insights, and data solutions across the organization. As a senior leader, this role ensures Business Intelligence is embedded in decision-making, fuels revenue generation, strengthens client partnerships, and serves as a core competitive advantage for the agency. 
  • Ideally local to the Chicagoland area,  will observe a hybrid schedule in office 3 days in Schaumburg, IL

 What You’ll Do at C.A. Carlin 

  • Enterprise BI Strategy & Executive Leadership 
    • Own the enterprise Business Intelligence vision, strategy, and roadmap across Insights, Category Management, and Data 
    • Translate organizational and commercial priorities into scalable analytics capabilities and insight-driven frameworks 
    • Act as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on performance management, growth opportunities, and data strategy 
    • Ensure Business Intelligence evolves in step with agency growth, client complexity, and retailer dynamics 
    • Define and champion an agencywide approach to insight storytelling that elevates the quality, clarity, and persuasiveness of all client deliverables 
  • Commercial & Client Impact 
    • Drive client-facing analytics and insights that improve distribution, pricing, promotion, assortment, and shelf performance 
    • Elevate insight storytelling to clearly connect data to strategy, execution, and revenue impact 
    • Support client growth, renewals, and new business through differentiated analytics, insights, and thought leadership 
    • Partner closely with Sales and Retail Execution leaders to embed insights into daily decision-making 
    • Serve as a senior analytics thought leader in client engagements, QBRs, and prospect pitches 
  •  Data, Tools, and Technology Ownership 
    • Own all enterprise data assets, BI platforms, and analytics technologies across the organization 
    • Establish and govern data quality, security, access, and usage standards to ensure trust and scalability 
    • Lead the adoption, optimization, and future state vision for Snowflake, Power BI, and AI-enabled analytics tools 
    • Partner with internal technology teams and external vendors on data architecture and platform enhancements 
    • Evaluate, select, and implement technology investments that enable automation, efficiency, and innovation 
  •  Analytics, Insights, and BI Delivery 
    • Oversee integration and effective use of syndicated data (Circana/IRI, NielsenIQ), retailer POS, loyalty, and eCommerce data 
    • Set standards for analytics methodologies, self-service BI, visualization, and executive reporting 
    • Ensure insights are timely, accurate, actionable, and clearly tied to business outcomes 
    • Identify and champion advanced analytics opportunities, including forecasting, modeling, and AI-driven use cases 
    • Monitor analytics performance, usage, and impact to ensure best-in-class delivery 
  • BI Organization Design & Team Leadership 
    • Build, lead, and scale a high-performing Business Intelligence organization across Insights, Category Management, and Data 
    • Define team structure, roles, capabilities, and career paths to support long-term growth and retention 
    • Coach and develop leaders and high-potential talent within the BI organization 
    • Foster a culture of accountability, experimentation, continuous learning, and data - driven decision - making 
    • Champion data literacy and analytics adoption across all levels of the organization 

What You Should Bring to the Table 

  • 10+ years of experience in insights, analytics, category management, or related disciplines within CPG, retail, or a sales broker environment 
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise analytics, insights, and/or data organizations 
  • Strong working knowledge of modern data stacks, including Snowflake, Power BI, and advanced analytics tools; AI agent experience is a plus 
  • Deep understanding of CPG metrics, retail dynamics, and syndicated data (Circana/IRI, NielsenIQ, POS, loyalty, eCommerce) 
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling stories that drive growth and revenue 
  • Experience partnering crossfunctionally with Sales, Ecommerce, Retail Execution, Finance, and Technology teams 
  • Executivelevel communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels 
  • Track record of building scalable BI capabilities and advancing analytics maturity 
  • Growth mindset with a passion for innovation, impact, and longterm organizational development
