We’re seeking a Senior Underwriter, Financial Lines to help drive our mission of creating solutions for complex risks in innovative markets. This role will lead our Financial Lines underwriting team and oversee risks across D&O, E&O, Cyber, Crime, and EPL. Your strategic insight, underwriting expertise, and leadership will guide profitable growth and deliver exceptional client outcomes.

Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As part of a dynamic and entrepreneurial team, you’ll combine technical underwriting expertise with business development flair. Your role will include:

• Driving growth through proactive broker and client engagement — identifying new opportunities, developing partnerships, and converting pipeline prospects into lasting relationships.
• Evaluating and underwriting complex risks across Financial Lines, balancing commercial opportunity with sound risk selection.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and product teams to design and execute client engagement and growth strategies.
• Analysing market trends to uncover emerging risks, shape product innovation, and strengthen competitive positioning.
• Managing portfolio performance, making informed recommendations to optimise growth and profitability.
• Delivering tailored solutions and expert advice to clients, ensuring their unique insurance needs are met with precision and insight.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in Financial Lines underwriting, ideally with leadership or growth-focused responsibilities.
• Deep understanding of D&O, E&O, Cyber, Crime, and EPL products.
• Proven ability to combine technical rigour with commercial acumen — identifying opportunities while maintaining underwriting discipline.
• Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills, with confidence in client and broker environments.
• Strong analytical mindset and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Professional designations such as ACII is a plus.

• Proven experience in developing rating models alongside actuaries and creating product wordings through collaboration.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with both internal teams and external partners.

• Effective project management skills and ability to work cross-functionally to deliver on objectives. 

• Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences. 

• Highly organised with strong time management skills. 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Mac OS is a plus. 

• Willingness to work outside core hours and travel overseas as needed.
