Your team:

As part of the cross-functional Dovecot team at Open-Xchange, you will work at the intersection of engineering, professional services, and customer-facing teams. You will support Dovecot customers and internal stakeholders by sharing deep product expertise, enabling scalable deployments, and contributing to value-added initiatives that improve customer experience, product adoption, and operational efficiency. 

Your new job:

  • Act as a senior technical expert for Dovecot, supporting customers and internal teams.
  • Enable customers and partners through technical training, guidance, and best practices.
  • Support Professional Services, Customer Success, and presales activities, including POCs and architecture reviews.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for enterprise and SLA customers.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams on tooling, prototyping, and documentation.
  • Identify recurring challenges and help turn solutions into reusable assets.

  • Operating system: Linux
  • Mail systems: Dovecot
  • Scripting & automation: Python, Bash
  • Databases: MySQL
  • Containerization & platforms: Kubernetes (knowledge is a plus)
  • Monitoring & operations: Log analysis, performance tuning
  • Application landscape: OX App Suite (familiarity is a plus)

Your background:

  • Several years of experience in a technical solutions, systems engineering, or professional services role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Dovecot or similar mail server technologies.
  • Solid Linux expertise and understanding of mail system architectures.
  • Experience with scripting or automation (e.g. Python, Bash).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and ability to work across teams and with customers.
  • Intrinsic motivation to take ownership and a passion for open-source technologies, thriving in a low-hierarchy environment.
  • Comfortable working in a remote-first environment with multicultural teams across different time zones.
