Senior Technical Program Manager

AI overview

Drive strategic technical initiatives that optimize value-based care, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and scalable processes in a fast-paced environment.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will serve as the critical orchestrator for Pearl Health, driving complex initiatives that empower primary care providers to deliver better patient outcomes. You will own the end-to-end execution of strategic technical programs, bridging the gap between engineering, product, and clinical teams to ensure our technology delivers measurable business impact. By navigating ambiguity and making strategic trade-offs, you will not only ensure timely delivery but also establish scalable processes that support Pearl’s growth. This is a unique opportunity to use your technical fluency to optimize performance in value-based care models and solve some of the healthcare system's biggest challenges.

Who We Are

Pearl Health is dedicated to empowering primary care providers, health systems, and physician-led networks to succeed in the shift to value-based care. Our platform delivers the technology, financial tools, and expert services that enable practices to provide more proactive, effective care to their Medicare patients, ultimately lowering costs and improving health outcomes.

Founded in 2020, we are a team of healthcare and technology innovators backed by premier investors like Andreessen Horowitz, Viking Global Investors, and AlleyCorp. We partner with thousands of providers across 44 states to build a more sustainable future for American healthcare.

What You'll Do

You will drive Pearl’s most strategic technical initiatives from conception to delivery, acting as the connective tissue between multiple engineering teams and business stakeholders to ensure execution excellence.

  • Orchestrate Cross-Functional Delivery: Align engineering teams, product managers, data scientists, and clinical operations to ensure coordinated execution on complex projects.

  • Drive Strategic Planning: Partner with engineering leadership to build realistic roadmaps that balance short-term business priorities with long-term technical health and capacity constraints.

  • Build Scalable Processes: Design and implement sustainable program management frameworks and tooling that increase team efficiency and delivery predictability.

  • Manage Risk and Dependencies: Proactively identify technical dependencies and program risks, developing mitigation strategies to maintain velocity and prevent blockers.

  • Translate Technical Impact: Communicate program status and outcomes to senior leadership, effectively translating complex technical details into clear business impact.

  • Empower Product Decisions: Provide Product Management with reliable delivery forecasts and visibility into technical constraints to enable informed roadmapping and customer commitments.

  • Foster Engineering Culture: Coach teams on agile best practices and continuous improvement, helping to build a culture of transparency, accountability, and delivery excellence.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for a leader with a deep technical foundation and exceptional program management discipline who thrives in fast-paced environments and can influence stakeholders without authority.

Must-haves

  • 4-7 years of experience in technical program management with a track record of delivering complex, multi-team programs in fast-paced technology environments.

  • Strong technical foundation (CS degree or equivalent experience) with the ability to engage deeply in discussions regarding system architecture, API design, and data pipelines.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with agile methodologies, dependency mapping, risk management, and the full software development lifecycle.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership and translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

  • Strong analytical skills to define metrics, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions that improve program outcomes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience leading large-scale architectural migrations, such as monolith-to-microservices or cloud migrations.

  • Background in healthcare technology, fintech, or highly regulated industries involving compliance requirements like HIPAA or SOC2.

  • Familiarity with value-based care models, ACO programs, or healthcare data standards.

  • Experience utilizing AI-enabled development tools to accelerate engineering velocity and planning.

  • Experience working with distributed teams or managing programs across multiple time zones.

This role might not be for you if:

  • You prefer a highly structured environment where all problems are clearly defined before you begin work.

  • You are looking for a role where you write production code daily, rather than focusing on system trade-offs and orchestration.

  • You struggle to drive consensus and move projects forward without having direct managerial authority over the teams involved.
