At Chewy, it is our mission to become the most trusted and convenient online destination for pet parents and our partners – vets and service providers – alike. Our success is measured by the happiness of the people and pets we serve, not simply by the amount of pet supplies we deliver. That’s why we continue to think of outside-the-Chewy-box ways to delight, surprise, and thank our loyal pet lovers!
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for a Technical Product Manager to join our Outbound Science and Technology (OST) Supply chain team and this position is an integral part of our growing Science and Software Engineering team. This role requires a candidate with a robust technical background and application framework expertise who collaborates seamlessly with software developers, data-scientists and business partners, combining their technical skills with strategic business insights. Candidate should be able to demonstrate superior product and industry knowledge and help the fulfillment operations group gain and maintain a competitive edge. As the steward of the platform, the Technical Product Manager is responsible for defining the strategic vision for a suite of interconnected products, driving roadmap and project execution, determining project timelines, feeding and prioritizing requirements for engineering, and enabling the feedback loop. This role involves aligning the roadmap with organizational objectives, ensuring that the platform evolves to meet both immediate and long-term business needs. Deep understanding of the technology stack, cross-team coordination, project management, and senior leadership engagement skills are critical.
What You’ll Do:
You will act as the product owner, managing initiative prioritization, backlog grooming, and scoping. You’ll serve as the main liaison between business and engineering, translating complex business needs into clear technical requirements for the science and engineering teams.
Throughout the development lifecycle, you will work closely with engineers to ensure successful roadmap execution, identify and mitigate risks, and lead sprint planning. You’ll coordinate feature releases, define release criteria, and ensure all teams are prepared for launches. Monitoring progress, addressing roadblocks, and maintaining communication with stakeholders will be key to your role.
You’ll also collaborate on backend system design and architecture within AWS, support model development, and help design experiments that leverage the team’s tech stack. Managing interdependencies across systems and teams will be essential, as will communicating the broader product strategy and ensuring alignment at all levels.
In addition, you will own all program documentation, capture decisions and changes, and communicate updates clearly. Using performance metrics and data-driven insights, you’ll help refine features and collaborate with the Analytics team to support deep-dive analysis. Staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends will inform your ongoing product strategy and help drive innovation.
