You possess a combination of technical ability, high artistic understanding, with an interest in creating VFX. You are adaptable, you like technical challenges including developing art tools, establishing art strong pipelines and troubleshooting technical issues. Sound like a match? Kabam is looking for a Senior Technical Artist (6-8 month contract) to join our growing studio in Montréal! We don’t just make games, we play and love them too.
In this role, you can expect to:
Work closely with artists, project managers, engineers and the rest of the Technical Art team to create and improve art production workflows, tools, pipelines, and asset optimization/integration.
Work closely with the VFX artists, mentoring and teaching them on optimization.
Develop pipelines and tools for the team.
Develop pipelines for creating beautiful and vibrant VFX.
Develop pipelines for lighting, including a day/night cycle, while contributing to lighting.
Contribute to rendering and shading techniques and processes.
Find creative solutions to realize artistic visions within the technical limit.
To be successful in this role, your background includes:
5+ years development experience in Unity.
Solid game industry experience, specifically in a technical artist or VFX role.
Strong ability to troubleshooting artist technical problems.
Proficiency in Maya and/or 3Ds Max, Blender and creating tools in these programs.
Knowledge of art optimization techniques.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience in Unity Scripting (C#).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
