About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Survey Project Manager to join our growing team of dedicated professionals. In this leadership role, you will bring your extensive experience in land surveying to oversee and guide a dynamic team of office and field staff. With your deep knowledge of survey principles, modern technologies, and equipment, you'll ensure the delivery of high-quality survey services across a variety of project types.

Your days will be filled with a mix of technical work, team leadership, and client collaboration. From boundary analysis and ALTA surveys to topographic mapping and construction layout, you’ll take the lead on planning, oversight, and execution—ensuring all work meets project budgets and timelines. You’ll draw upon your expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other survey-related software to produce and review accurate survey documents and computations.

In this position, you'll play an active role in mentoring and developing staff, providing on-the-job training, and delegating tasks in a way that builds confidence and competence in junior team members. Your influence will extend to hiring decisions and employee coaching, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight: Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of survey projects—boundary, topographic, construction, and more—ensuring all are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Daily interaction and coordination with the office Survey Team Manager

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project managers, project surveyors, CAD technicians, and field crews. Support and coach their technical growth and ensure team cohesion.

Client Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction, clarity in scope, and proactive communication. Writing proposals based on client request and requirements.

Technical Expertise: Oversee survey methodologies, quality control, compliance with state statutes and rules, municipal requirements and Galloway standards of practice. Provide strategic guidance on best practices.

Mentorship: Act as a knowledge resource for junior staff, fostering development and knowledge sharing within the survey group.

Requirements

Technical Proficiency:

  • Preferred Experience with: Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word), Deltek Vantagepoint
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coach talent, and work cross-functionally with internal departments and external clients.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with business development, proposal writing and billings/invoice review

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • A Colorado PLS license (preferred)
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or technical school education in surveying technology—or equivalent experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in survey project management or leadership role

Benefits

The estimated starting base salary for this role is $130,000-$160,000.
