The role will be based in Kuala Lumpur and will be fully dedicated to representing the institution in key markets in Southeast Asia and the Asia Pacific (APAC).

About the role
The primary focus of the role will be to support the implementation of the University’s international recruitment strategy working closely with the UK-based team. You will deliver recruitment and conversion activities targeting prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students, leading to applications and enrollment from students across these regions.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Work with the Regional Manager for Southeast Asia and APAC to implement student recruitment and conversion strategies for these regions.
- Liaise closely with colleagues from the international recruitment and admissions teams, and develop working relationships with a range of stakeholders in other areas of the University, including the Academic Schools involved in international activities.
- Produce annual regional recruitment plans in support of the Regional Manager, including the provision of data-led insights to inform effective planning.
- Support the Director of International Recruitment and the Head of International Recruitment with monthly data analysis and reporting on international recruitment trends, recruitment channel analysis, performance metrics and other relevant insight to inform strategic decisions.
- Contribute to monitoring and reporting on the regional recruitment budget in line with strategic priorities.
- Responsible for the engagement of key stakeholders in Southeast Asia and APAC, including agents, schools, pathway providers, sponsors and partner universities. Managing and developing key relationships.
- Manage day-to-day communications with prospective students, parents, and other key stakeholders delivering an excellent experience. This includes management of the relevant international recruitment inboxes and other enquiry sources.
- Use the CRM system to accurately record, track and manage prospective student interactions.
- Prepare and deliver recruitment and promotional presentations and workshops to a range of audiences including potential students and their parents; staff in schools and colleges; agents; and partners both in person and via online communication methods.
- Lead and deliver conversion campaigns to guide prospective students through each stage of their application journey, ensuring they stay engaged and complete the process successfully.
- Co-ordinate visits to key markets in the region by senior members of staff at the University including the delivery of itineraries and briefings.
- Contribute to other activities to support international recruitment objectives as directed by the Regional Manager.
- Provide data and sector-specific intelligence to support International Business Partners in their engagement with individual academic Schools
The Most Suitable Background
- A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in increasingly responsible roles related to international student recruitment, marketing and PR.
- Demonstrable success in delivering successful student recruitment strategies.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the UK Higher Education system and knowledge of the broader external market environment for international education.
- Experience representing a known higher education institution is desirable.
- Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong English fluency. Proficient in business writing. Able to discuss strategy and analysis with English speakers.
- Experience of public speaking, including presenting to an audience.
- Experience of managing, processing and analysing data.
- Ability to work independently but also effectively as part of a wider-team.
- The ability to travel frequently within Southeast Asia and the wider APAC region - up to 12 weeks per year.
