As a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you’ll play a key role in that mission by sourcing, qualifying, and managing work distribution across our network of U.S.-based Manufacturing Partners—who are far more than just suppliers.

In this role, you will leverage your deep expertise in supplier sourcing, qualification, and development—as well as your background in Business, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing—to strategically build and strengthen our network of U.S.-based Manufacturing Partners. You will cultivate high-trust, in-person relationships, champion continuous improvement, and ensure operational excellence across capacity, capability, quality, and cost.

You will report to the Manager of Strategic Sourcing for the U.S. Region, serving as a senior contributor and subject-matter expert within the Strategic Sourcing team.

As a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you will play a critical role in fostering strong, enduring partnerships with our North American Manufacturing Partners in your region. Your work will directly impact partner performance, customer satisfaction, operational scalability, and Fictiv’s ability to meet complex manufacturing needs across technologies including CNC machining, 3D printing, sheet metal, and injection molding.

You will also ensure we have a well-balanced network of partners, each with the right capacity and capabilities, to consistently meet and exceed customer requirements in terms of technical specifications, lead time, and cost. This will involve regular engagement, both virtually and on-site, to strengthen relationships, assess partner capabilities, resolve challenges, and collaborate on continuous performance improvements.

Areas of Responsibility

Manufacturing Partner (MP) Relationship Management

Onboarding & Evaluation: Own the end-to-end sourcing and onboarding of new Manufacturing Partners—including identification, assessment, selection, and integration into Fictiv’s ecosystem—ensuring full alignment with Fictiv’s goals and strategic objectives.

Manage Relationships: Build and nurture long-term relationships with Manufacturing Partners (MPs) across your region. This will involve both virtual and in-person interactions, ensuring a high level of engagement and business alignment while fostering strong partnerships.

Negotiation of Terms

Manufacturing Service Agreements (MSAs): Lead or support negotiations for Manufacturing Service Agreements (MSAs) with key strategic partners, ensuring terms support long-range competitiveness, quality, and scalability. Drive partner alignment on pricing, lead times, capacity planning, and performance targets to ensure consistent delivery and operational excellence.

Supplier Development & Engagement

Supplier Development Initiatives: Identify and lead supplier development initiatives in collaboration with Sourcing and other cross-functional teams, improving quality, throughput, capability, and reliability.
Drive Engagement: Drive supplier engagement, ensuring consistent adherence to Fictiv’s standards and expectations.

Cost and Lead Time Optimization

Transparency & Spend Optimization: Oversee a strategically balanced domestic supply portfolio, ensuring optimal distribution of spend, capacity, and capabilities. Analyze partner performance, cost structures, and utilization data to drive efficiency, transparency, and continuous operational improvement across the network.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

Cross-Functional Cooperation: Partner with Sales, Product Management, Quality, Costing/DFM, and Operations teams to align on supplier strategies, execution plans, and continuous improvement projects.

Continuous Improvement: Proactively suggest and implement continuous improvements across sourcing, quality, and cost optimization strategies.

Supplier Sourcing and Network Expansion

New Supplier Partnerships: Proactively identify and cultivate new supplier partnerships that strengthen Fictiv’s domestic manufacturing capabilities across multiple technologies. Leverage your industry network and existing relationships to expand Fictiv’s strategic supplier footprint and drive growth across the ecosystem.
Program-Specific Supply Chain Development: In collaboration with sourcing and our customers, and sales team, develop the right supply chain and Manufacturing Partners to meet our customers’ need for some of our largest programs.

Site Visits and Relationship Building

On-Site Visits: The core aspect of this role involves regular on-site visits to manufacturing partners, allowing you to directly address challenges and strengthen relationships. These visits provide valuable insights into current capacity, capabilities, and partner preferences, fostering trust and enhancing collaboration—key differentiators in driving long-term success with our partners.
Travel Requirements: The role will require an average of 25% to 50% travel each month to engage directly with suppliers and visit their facilities.

Adherence to Standards

Strategic Sourcing Charter & AORs: Maintain consistency in processes, documentation, and decision-making to support scalable, repeatable sourcing excellence.

All employees are expected to maintain and contribute to the QMS.

Desired Traits, Qualifications, Education and Experience Equivalency

  • 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, business development, or manufacturing engineering, with direct exposure and experience to CNC machining, 3DP, molding, or fabrication suppliers.
  • Proven track record in supplier sourcing, negotiation, development, and relationship leadership.
  • Strong familiarity with vendor management systems, sourcing platforms, and related tools.
  • Hands-on experience working directly with domestic suppliers, including regular on-site engagement within their facilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex negotiations and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical capability and comfort interpreting cost models, performance data, and operational metrics.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment in supplier evaluation, sourcing strategy, and decision-making.
  • Skilled in conducting challenging negotiations while maintaining productive and professional cross-functional relationships.
  • Highly proficient in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to drive business decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter capable of operating autonomously.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to travel 25–50% of the time (primarily domestic with the majority of travel being local to the San Francisco Bay Area).

Salary Range: $120,000 - $145,000 per year
