To solve these problems at scale, Cruise ML Engineers need state of the art platforms for data, ML, testing and validation. Our team, AI Platform, focuses on these platforms and solutions and plays a critical role in making self-driving cars a reality!

About the Role 

We’re looking for an experienced technical product manager with domain expertise in data and ML platform solutions to accelerate and automate our end to end AI lifecycle. As a Staff Technical Product Manager, your job will be focused on building platform solutions that solve high impact problems in AI development and testing. 

You will work closely with our talented engineers to make sure the right features are built the right way. You will understand true customer needs and create a roadmap to address them effectively. Having a strong technical background in AI/ML is critical to understand the problem space and explore possible technical solutions in collaboration with engineers.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop the vision and the roadmap for the AI platform used by applied ML and Robotics engineers at Cruise
  • Work with applied ML teams across Cruise to understand their requirements for model development and build generalized solutions
  • Influence key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering
  • Define long-term product strategy by proactively identifying emerging customer needs and business opportunities
  • Launch new products and features, test their performance and iterate quickly
  • Establish a shared product vision and strategy for your product area, rooted in a deep understanding of the product domain and unmet customer needs
  • Leverage usability studies, data, industry innovation, and metrics to generate insights and improve AV performance and development speed
  • Communicate roadmaps, priorities, experiments, and decisions clearly across a wide spectrum of audiences from internal customers to executives
  • Exemplify best-in-class product development and management practices in everything you touch
  • Own product roadmaps and guide end-to-end product development

What you must have: 

  • 6+ years of product management experience delivering highly impactful and innovative products at scale
  • Proven success leading highly technical (robotics, machine learning or computer vision) products
  • Experience formulating and driving a principled product vision, and being responsible for the narrative with leadership and key team members
  • Solid experience collaborating with cross functional partners from Engineer and User Experience Design/Experience. 
  • Ability to generate crucial product insights through quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • In-depth knowledge of big data and machine learning engineering practices
  • Outstanding communication skills: verbal and written, with engineers, non-technical partners, and executives
  • Thrive in ambiguity, crafting simplicity and order
  • Creativity and curiosity: you're driven to find novel solutions and push forward an entire industry

 

The salary range for this position is $193,900 - 285,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
