Senior/Staff System Integration and Test Engineer

TLDR

Drive end-to-end integration of vehicle systems ensuring world-class reliability for Robotaxi Service Operations, while leading a cross-functional team to mitigate integration risks.

We are seeking an experienced System Integration and Test Engineer to join our Vehicle System Integration organization. In this role, you will be a technical leader responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of all vehicle systems. You will leverage your deep expertise in automotive development, systems engineering, and hands-on testing to drive end-to-end integration of our complex vehicle platform. Your work will be critical in ensuring world class reliability for our Robotaxi Service Operations. In this role, you will:
  • Develop integration test plan to meet system functionality objectives for progressive vehicle milestones, continuously improving the test coverage based on platform maturity.
  • Identify integration risks early on through rigorous testing and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders - System Engineers, Hardware Engineers, Firmware Engineers, Vehicle Program Management - to mitigate impact to the program and milestones.

  • Report overall system robustness status, open issues, integration risks and mitigation plans during regular program reviews

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to broader team to apply data driven testing and integration methodology to various vehicle systems
  • Lead cross-functional focused resolution forum to assess program risks and drive resolution of complex system integration issues in a timely manner
  • Lead development and commissioning of system test benches with progressive capabilities and leverage simulation/emulation techniques to overcome challenges with timing and maturity of components
  • Conduct testing using Simulation, Bench and Vehicle assets to characterize System Performance at Nominal and Off Nominal conditions and conduct data analysis to derive actionable insights

     

     

     

     

     

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 10-15 years of experience in Vehicle System Development and Integration related role
  • Proven track record of excellence in delivering function robustness in one or more of the following vehicle systems -Chassis, Braking, Steering, Electric Propulsion, ADAS, Thermal
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, CAN FD, OBD2, LIN, Auto-Ethernet)
  • Expertise with 12V Power Management and Network Communication - CAN/LIN and Automotive Ethernet

  • Extensive hands-on experience conducting bench/vehicle-level testing, instrumentation and data analysis

  • Experience in developing SFMEA

  • Well versed in technical problem solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, Shainin RedX, 5Why, 8d

     

     

     

     


     

  • Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience with Automotive Calibration Development at Vehicle Level
  • Experience with Controls Development using xIL and Rapid Controls Prototyping 
  • Experience with development and integration of vehicle program from prototype to launch
  • Experience with ISO 21448 (SOTIF) or ISO26262 (Automotive functional safety)
