Role Overview
Coupang is looking for a strategic and execution focussed leader to drive the standardisation in automation infrastructure across supply chain. You will lead end-to-end decision making across critical infrastructure for our warehouse automation, especially standardisation and governance of PLCs programming and control systems. You will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining automated systems software, support and migrated existing systems into our inhouse software systems.
What You Will Do
PLC Programming and Control systems
- Develop, modify and troubleshoot PLC programs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron or equivalent)
- Configure, maintain and troubleshoot HMI/SCADA systems
- Ensure PLC logic , safety interlocks and system controls meet operational and compliance standards
Automation system integration
- Integrate sensors, actuators, robotics, conveyors and packaging equipment into automated lines
- Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure smooth integration of new machines and upgrades
- Validate system functionality through structured testing
Equipment Reliability and Maintenance
- Perform root cause analysis for automation failures and downtime events
- Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans for PLC and industrial automation components
- Maintain documentation including electrical diagrams, PLC code versions and change logs
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure system comply with relevant electrical and industrial safety standards
- Implement and monitor safety PLCs, interlocks and fail-safe configurations
- Maintain audi-ready documentation and support compliance inspections
Continuous improvement
- Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual work, improve accuracy and enhance throughput
- Improve system visibility by implementing monitoring dashboards, alarms and analytics
- Drive Kaizen initiatives centered on automation reliability and efficiency.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degrees in Engineering , Business or Supply chain related field
- 8-12 years of experience in e-commerce warehousing or supply chain domains
- Minimum 5 years of experience in designing deploying and optimising supply chain automation systems including custom hardware software build cycles
- Proven expertise in digital automation, RFID systems IoT integration and data-driven process optimisation across complex fulfilment networks
- Strong experience in managing the full lifecycle of automation charters from requirements and design to validation and scale
- Demonstrated ability to align stakeholders and manage large scale cross functional programs involving product engineering operations and procurement teams
- Strong analytical skills and decision-making frameworks for high-impact technology investments
- Proven leadership experience in high ambiguity, fast paced and evolving environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading large scale projects in high growth e-commerce or fulfilment network environments with variable throughput, SKU complexity and last-mile constraints
- Passion for innovating at the intersection of hardware, software and operationgs with a strong ability to document project roadmaps and lead pilot deployments.

Document Return Policy
- This notification is given pursuant to Article 11 (6) of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act.
- A job applicant, who has applied but not been finally selected for a position at Coupang (the “Company”), may request the Company to return his/her hiring documents submitted pursuant to the Fair Hiring Procedure Act. However, this will not apply where the hiring documents were submitted via the website of the Company or e-mail, or where the job applicant submitted those documents voluntarily without a request from the Company. In addition, if the hiring documents were destroyed due to a natural disaster or any other reasons not attributable to the Company, such documents will be deemed to have been returned to the job applicant.
- A job applicant who wishes to request the return of his/her hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above should fill out a “Request for Return of Hiring Documents” [Annex Form No. 3 in the Enforcement Rule of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act] and submit It by email ([email protected]). In such case, within fourteen (14) days from the date of identifying the receipt of the request, the Company will send the hiring documents to the job applicant’s designated address via registered mail. Please be informed that the job applicant is required to pay the postage on the registered mail.
- In preparation for a job applicant’s request for the return of hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above, the Company shall retain the original hiring documents submitted by the job applicant for 180 days from the completion of the recruiting process. If no request is made until the end of this period, all his/her hiring documents will be destroyed immediately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
- The above paragraphs 1 - 4 shall only apply when the labor-related laws of Korea govern the application. They are otherwise not applicable.
