Role Overview
We are seeking a Lead Staff Software Engineer to architect, develop, and lead the implementation of state-of-the-art video understanding solutions using large-scale video models (Vid-LLMs). This role involves exploring the AI technology landscape, leveraging open source multimodal AI solutions and driving technical strategy and defining product roadmap to deliver scalable, high-impact video AI custom solutions to address JioHotstar’s use cases.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Lead design and development of large video model-based solutions for video & audio understanding for aiding content production, generation and personalization.
Innovate, build POCs leveraging genAI applications to cater to growing business needs and drive for end to end productionizing.
Develop and implement novel AI-powered video enhancement and manipulation algorithms, including super-resolution, automatic editing, colorization, and content generation.
Architect scalable, efficient systems for processing and analyzing long-form video data using advanced vision-language models and streaming encoding techniques.
Establish best practices for model deployment, evaluation, and continuous improvement in production environments.
Represent the company in industry forums related to video AI and large language models.
Skills and attributes for success:
Deep expertise in machine learning, computer vision, and large-scale genAI systems, especially with image & video data.
Hands-on experience building video understanding and generation solutions using multimodal AI models such as Hunyuan, Wanx, Runway, Sora, Veo2/3 and deploying at scale
Hands-on experience in custom training of existing multimodal models with PEFT, LoRA
Working knowledge of techniques such as RAG, (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone, Milvus), and advanced prompt engineering for optimizing model performance.
Experience in large-scale distributed systems, cloud-computing, GPU based processing of AI/ML modelsUnderstanding of audio and video internals and production workflows, streaming formats and processing techniques
Strong communication skills to lead technical discussions and align teams on strategy.

Preferred Education and Experience:
BE/B.Tech in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
MS or PhD a plusExpert in C++ or Java, Python and object-oriented programming and experience building AI models.
8+ years experience in software development, with excellent problem solving and debugging skills
