About the team: JioHotstar's world-record-breaking OTT platform is available in India, the international market. We are home to India's largest entertainment content catalog for the Indian diaspora in the UK. We are hiring senior engineers for our UK and international teams to develop systems that drive business growth in the country. This is a unique opportunity to work across the JioHotstar tech stack and work on the most impactful projects. You will contribute to the common stack, build frameworks to offer geography-specific differentiated features and create subscriber and business growth platform for the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and build scalable, resilient microservices that power JioStar’s ad tech stack
Own end-to-end delivery of complex backend projects, from technical design to deployment and monitoring
Write high-quality, maintainable code, and ensure rigorous testing and fault tolerance
Drive architectural decisions and influence long-term engineering strategy for the team
Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into tech solutions
Take ownership of operational excellence, including performance tuning, incident response, and root cause analysis
Mentor junior engineers, conduct technical deep dives and code reviews, and foster a culture of knowledge sharing
Skills & Attributes for success:
Strong coding and designing skills (Java or Golang)
Experience in building high-scale distributed domain-driven microservices
Proficiency with databases like MySQL, NoSql (Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB)
Embrace new technologies and work with various tools and technologies to achieve the desired functionality
Experience with AWS stacks like SQS, Dynamo DB, EKS, Aurora, etc. will be an added advantage
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues in production environments
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and collaborate well within a team environment to achieve desired results
Preferred Education & Experience:
B-Tech or M-Tech in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from a reputed university.
9-12 years of progressive experience in software development, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time.
