Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer (Coupang AI Foundations)

Role Overview 

We are looking for experienced and innovative ML engineers with an entrepreneurial mindset to be part of the technical team pioneering in advance AI engineering for e-commerce scenarios at Coupang. We pioneer in innovative optimization techniques for AI reasoning and token completion models.  

Basic Qualifications  

• 8+ years of relevant experience 
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related fields
• 5+ years of experience in AI/ML and familiarity with the latest deep learning techniques 

Preferred Qualifications  

• 10+ years of relevant experience in technology companies or organizations
• Knowledge in e-commerce or eagerness to learn
• Experience applying Large Language Models or Large Image Models in an industry
• Hands-on with ability to design and implement high-quality algorithms / systems independently
• Ability to dive deep into the algorithms / systems and generate ideas of improvements
• Ability to efficiently run experiments, analyze results, and quickly iterate
• Solid track record of delivering big business impacts via technology innovations
• Excellent communications and collaborations across teams and across functionalities 

Some examples of the related projects:

• Extract structured and high-quality product information from images and unstructured texts
• Automatically generate product images and videos to improve customer experience
• Chatbot that can accurately answer product-related questions 

Pay & Benefits 

Our compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.

The base pay for this position ranges from $174,000/year to $299,000/year. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Annual bonus is 0-20% of the base salary.
