Job Overview

 

The Fulfillment Center (FC) Core Systems Tech organization within Global Operations Technology is responsible for systems that enable Coupang to fulfill customer orders within hours. Our mission is to innovate logistics by building an efficient FC ecosystem that operates at breakthrough scale and speed.

We seek an experienced engineering leader to;

  • Drive technology direction and architecture for FC systems.
  • Work closely in partnership with planning and optimization engineers and scientists
  • Align with tech leaders and stakeholders.
  • Influence teams and execute delivery of complex, scalable, and reliable systems.
  • Adopt advanced technologies in automation, robotics, and process optimization.
  • Develop the best engineering talent amongst the current team

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead architecture design for FC systems ensuring scalability, extensibility, and reliability.
  • Define and align on technology roadmap with stakeholders.
  • Remove technical blockers at the organizational level.
  • Simplify complex problems into actionable solutions.
  • Write code when necessary to lead by example.
  • Identify business and technology opportunities proactively.
  • Review and adopt new technologies (open-source and commercial).
  • Recruit and develop world-class engineering talent.
  • Drive automation and robotics initiatives.

 

Qualifications

 

  • 10+ years in software development at technology companies.
  • Proven track record delivering large, complex systems with business impact.
  • Experience designing and developing large-scale distributed systems.
  • 7+ years in backend services and web applications.
  • Strong knowledge of storage, data processing, and serving technologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Object-oriented design and development expertise.
  • Proficiency in Java and Spring Framework.
  • AWS service development and operational experience.
  • ORM experience (JPA, Hibernate) and domain modeling.
  • Logistics-related service development experience.
  • Build/test/deploy automation experience.
  • Bulk data processing using NoSQL solutions.
  • Git version control experience.
  • Familiarity with relational and column-oriented databases.
  • Agile development experience.
  • Direct experience with Robotics or experience partnering with hardware development teams
