TLDR

Lead the technical development of Horizon, a data warehouse product, while enhancing product quality and team performance through code standards and best practices.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role helping to lead the technical aspects of Horizon, our data warehouse product.

Use your .Net, SQL, data handling, automation, and cloud infrastructure experience, to build and optimize scalable .NET applications. Assist in cultivating a culture of continuous improvement, to enhance product quality and team performance and deliver impactful solutions.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the development of robust, high-quality, and scalable .Net applications, prioritizing automation, and streamlining processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual efforts
  • Work with the team to maintain high code standards and share responsibility for product quality
  • Diagnose and resolve issues, communicating their impact to stakeholders and helping to prioritize solutions
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to encourage healthy team collaboration, and communication processes such as code reviews, test shares, and design discussions etc...
  • Maintain best practice code quality, design and architecture
  • Work constructively to assist team members, support learning and growth, and lead by good example
  • There is scope to lead and support a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, Testers, and Business Analysts (for those interested in incorporating a Team Lead capacity into the role)

Requirements

About you

  • A seasoned, senior level, backend Software Engineer
  • Advanced experience in .Net and relational databases, with a well-developed understanding of modern software delivery practices and life cycle
  • Experience deploying applications in Kubernetes and a strong grasp of observability and distributed logging in cloud-native environments
  • Proven experience with DevOps pipelines and managing cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with big data queries, data warehousing, and data-heavy domains would be highly beneficial
  • Previous team leadership responsibilities would be preferred (for those interested in incorporating a Team Lead capacity into the role)
