Who you are:  

Senior Software Engineer

As part of the SumUp team working in one of our fabulous offices, you’ll play an important role in building and maintaining key services that power our in-store products, integrations and payments. We’re a diverse group working in multiple contexts, across multiple technology platforms, and in support of global teams. Our products and services power thousands of devices, millions of interactions, and billions of sent messages annually. We own and support public-facing dashboards used by nearly all US SumUp merchants, internal and partner-level APIs, and a rich set of internal back-office tools.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain a high level of quality in our code bases through well-written automated tests, good architecture and code review processes.
  • Own, design, and code product initiatives from start to finish.
  • Participate in collaborative problem solving, planning sessions, and retrospectives.
  • Work collaboratively with designers, product managers, QA, and internal support teams to ensure our products are the best they can be.

Must-have expertise and knowledge to be successful in this role:

  • 6+ years experience working with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and back-end frameworks; we use React/Next.js, some Angular, and Python/Django, but if you have a strong eye for clean modular code then you will fit right in.
  • Strong team player - we work in small product teams that work very closely together and are constantly collaborating in order to move as fast as possible.
  • Eagerness to take on new challenges with a positive attitude and a growth mindset

Compensation: 

  • Base salary range is $155,000 - $175,000
  • Stock Option Plan participation
  • Compensation will be finalized based on the candidate’s experience and location
