Senior Software Engineer

Our leading-edge Scrum team in the engineering group is looking for a motivated and energetic Software Engineer who is eager to learn and make big changes to our mission critical applications. You’ll have the opportunity to work with the engineering leads, product and design teams, as well as other developers and QAs to deliver applications which are scalable, secure, robust and highly performing. We adopt microservices architecture, distributed technologies, latest frontend frameworks and sophisticated monitoring tools.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Actively participate in requirements gathering sessions
  • Translate product requirements into technical solutions through design discussions
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools or engineering best practices
  • Write clean code with plenty of unit and integration tests
  • Troubleshoot issues, including those related to performance and scalability
  • Support your deliverables in production
  • Adopt Agile process
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or related majors is REQUIRED
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with a successful track record
  • Proficient in developing software applications using Java and Spring framework
  • Proficient in unit and integration testing with JUnit and other frameworks
  • Experienced in at least one development tool, such as IntelliJ
  • Experienced in REST web services and integration
  • Familiar with database technologies and SQL
  • Familiar with web related technologies, such as JavaScript, CSS
  • Familiar with code versioning tools such as Github
  • Familiar with build pipeline such as Jenkins
  • Familiar with AWS Cloud Development

(Colorado Only) Pursuant to applicable law, SquareTrade estimates the possible base compensation for this role, if hired in Colorado, to be within the following range: $140K - $180K
