About the Role: 

In the position of Sr Software Engineer I on the Platform team at Softheon, you'll lead significant aspects of our software development efforts, using your expertise to design, develop, and deliver scalable solutions that advance our healthcare technology offerings.  As the owner of the Catalog product, you will drive its roadmap, ensure its reliability and scalability, and integrate it with the broader platform. You will work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions and contribute to the technical direction of the platform.  

 

Requirements

You Will: 

Advanced Software Development and Innovation 

  • Expert Development: Architect, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack solutions with .NET and Angular. 
  • Innovative Solutions:  Design and implement solutions to complex technical problems, balancing performance, scalability, and maintainability. 
  • AI‑Augmented Development: Leverage AI tools (e.g., code‑completion, AI‑driven test‑case generation) to accelerate design, implementation, and quality‑assurance within the full SDLC. 

 Leadership and Project Management 

  • Project Leadership: Lead projects effectively, managing timelines and deliverables with a high degree of competence and independence. 
  • Technical Authority: Act as a subject matter expert, providing expertise in the architectural design and implementation of new applications and features. 

Mentorship and Team Development 

  • Mentorship: Act as a mentor and guide for junior engineers, helping them develop their skills and understanding of software development best practices. 

Analytical Problem Solving and Strategic Collaboration 

  • Analytical Problem Solving: Employ advanced problem-solving techniques to address problems of diverse scope, analyze data effectively, and develop innovative solutions. 
  • Strategic Collaboration: Build and enhance relationships with senior internal and external partners, aligning technical solutions with business needs.  

Talent Management 

  • Collaborate with the Talent team to actively engage in the hiring and recruitment process, including but not limited to participating in interviews. 
  • Leverage industry networks and expertise to identify and attract top talent that aligns with the company's objectives and values.  
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members within your department and across diverse functions.  
  • Play an integral role in shaping and reinforcing the overall company culture, promoting values that enhance teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement. 

Additional Responsibilities 

  • Must be available for on-call duty during peak periods, providing support outside of regular working hours as needed to ensure the timely resolution of critical issues.   
  • Although we work in a remote-first environment, all roles require in-person attendance at our headquarters approximately 2 times per year (in addition to other travel requirements for this specific role, if applicable). These visits are essential for team collaboration, strategic planning, and fostering deeper connections across the organization. Travel arrangements will be supported to ensure a seamless experience.  
  • Must reside in the Eastern or Central time zone.  

 You Have: 

 Education 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field is required. 

Experience 

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience required. 
  • Strong full-stack development experience. 
  • Experience working with C#/.NET and Typescript is required. 
  • Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and modern frontend applications. 
  • Experience owning features or products end-to-end (design, development, delivery, iteration). 
  • Experience working directly with stakeholders to define requirements and drive product direction. 
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and managing/prioritizing backlog work. 

Certifications (or to be obtained within 90 days of starting employment) 

  • AZ900 and AI900 are preferred and required to obtain within 180 days if not already certified   
  • Professional Scrum Developer and Professional Scrum Product Owner certification are a plus  

Skills 

  • Strong proficiency in .NET and modern frontend frameworks (Angular preferred). 
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs. 
  • Experience with Docker and containerized application development. 
  • Experience working with relational databases and data modeling. 
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills across the full stack. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  •  Ability to influence decisions and manage relationships with senior stakeholders. 

Knowledge 

  • Broad knowledge of software engineering principles, system design, and application architecture. 
  • Familiarity with microservices or modular architecture patterns. 
  • Understanding of SDLC best practices, including testing, code quality, and deployment processes. 
  • Experience designing scalable frontend architectures (e.g., microfrontends, modular UI systems, or component libraries) is a plus.

  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of a product or major feature area. 
  • Ability to devise solutions based on limited information and adapt existing methods to meet new challenges. 
  • Strong prioritization skills with a focus on delivering business value. 
  • Ability to adapt quickly and apply existing knowledge to new domains and challenges.

Softheon offers every full-time employee a comprehensive compensation and benefits package including:  

  • Base Salary of $120,000-$145,000
