Senior Software Engineer (React/Node.js)

Our Client has been empowering some of the biggest energy suppliers to better serve millions of customers and wants to power a world where net zero is within everyone’s reach, by building the platform that will accelerate a sustainable, affordable, and resilient energy transition. We are looking for someone with good communication skills, ideally with experience making decisions, being proactive, and with good attention to detail.  What you will do: - You will join the Billing team, an integral part of the client's Energy Retail platform. The mission of this team is to reduce retailers' debt risk by enabling them to send accurate, compliant, and timely bills in a cost-effective manner. - From day one, you will be involved in various team activities, including development, design, support, and testing. While we don’t expect you to have extensive domain knowledge, you will have the opportunity to build your expertise with guidance from our experienced engineering team. What you will bring: - Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js. - Experience building and maintaining frontend applications with React. - Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally AWS. - Some experience or exposure to event-driven systems or message queues (e.g. Kafka, SQS). - Solid experience with CI pipelines, SQL, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform). - Experience in software delivery within agile teams. - Strong knowledge of test approaches and experience in creating unit and integration tests as part of the development cycle. - A quality-focused mindset with strong analytical problem-solving skills. - Ability to work collaboratively with a range of technical skill levels in the team, providing guidance and mentorship as needed. - Thorough understanding of support processes and observability. Nice to have: - Experience with Datadog. - Experience working with Temporal.io.
