This platform is API-first, headless, and designed to enable teams to build and evolve product capabilities quickly, safely, and at scale. The New Platform is central to ezCater’s ability to evolve its product and business.

As a Senior Software Engineer, New Platform, you will play a key role in designing, building, and operating core platform services and experiences. You’ll work across the stack — from backend services and APIs to experience-layer integrations — and collaborate closely with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to turn ambiguous problems into well-structured, scalable solutions.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys owning meaningful systems end-to-end, values collaborative design, and wants to help shape how a modern platform is built and used across an organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and implement platform services and APIs that support multiple product experiences
  • Own end-to-end features and capabilities, from design through production and iteration
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers for technical design
  • Make meaningful improvements to code quality, reliability, and developer experience within the New Platform
  • Mentor and provide technical support for less experienced engineers on the team
  • Build Go-based backend services and microservices that model platform capabilities
  • Create well-designed APIs and contracts that are easy for other teams to consume and extend
  • Build instrumentation, logging, and metrics to ensure systems are observable and operable in production
  • Automate tests, safe rollout mechanisms, and incremental delivery pipelines that reduce risk
  • Operate with a strong sense of ownership for systems in production

What you have:

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong backend development experience, ideally with Go or similar modern languages
  • Experience building and operating microservices and API-driven systems; experience with BFF (Backend-for-Frontend) or Experience APIs is a plus
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and data modeling
  • Practical experience with observability, performance tuning, and operating production systems
  • Familiarity with modern frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript; experience with frameworks like Next.js or Astro is a plus
  • A quality mindset: testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and safe rollout practices
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Product and Design to deliver iterative, measurable outcomes
  • A team-oriented approach with eagerness to learn and grow
  • Friendly, flexible and pragmatic approach to work
