Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and driven Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team at Diligent. In this role, you will be hands-on in shaping the future of our platform by designing and delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing microservices that power our SaaS solutions.

You will work primarily with .NET and Node.js/TypeScript to build RESTful APIs and serverless services on AWS, either developing new services or modernizing existing ones. You will own services end-to-end—from development through deployment and monitoring—while contributing to architectural discussions and mentoring engineers across the team.

You will also play a key role in championing the responsible use of AI-powered tools to improve development efficiency, code quality, and team productivity, while maintaining strong standards for security, reliability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and own secure, scalable services, guiding technical decisions and evaluating trade-offs to meet reliability, performance, and cost goals.

  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs (OpenAPI) using .NET and Node.js, leveraging AWS serverless patterns.

  • Own services end-to-end, including development, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

  • Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and prototyping, while critically reviewing outputs to ensure quality and safety.

  • Advise on appropriate AI use, including high-level model concepts, prompt patterns, and ethical and privacy considerations.

  • Collaborate with Product, Security, DevOps, and other engineering teams to align on features, deployment strategies, and compliance requirements.

  • Coach and mentor peers on engineering best practices and AI-augmented development workflows.

  • Scout and evaluate emerging tools and frameworks, improving observability, resilience, and developer productivity.

  • Document designs, decisions, and operational practices, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Required Experience / Skills

  • 5–7 years of professional software engineering experience in an agile environment, delivering secure and scalable services.

  • Strong hands-on experience with .NET and Node.js for building RESTful APIs (OpenAPI).

  • Hands-on experience with AWS serverless patterns.

  • Comfortable with infrastructure as code (AWS CDK or Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.

  • Experience with SQL (PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design and performance optimization.

  • Familiarity with React or Angular to collaborate effectively on end-to-end features.

  • Understanding of high-level LLM concepts (e.g., hallucinations, prompt sensitivity) and safe vs. unsafe AI use cases.

  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and prototyping, with critical review of outputs.

  • Awareness of ethical, privacy, and cost risks related to AI-assisted development.

  • Applies security best practices in code and deployments (IAM, secrets management).

  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to mentor or guide peers.

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
