Requirements and responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Network Automation to design and build automation platforms that modernize and scale our network operations. 
You will develop internal tools that automate troubleshooting, ticket enrichment, mass communication, and remediation workflows across a large-scale ISP network.

 

What you'll do:

  • Design and develop internal automation platforms for NOC and network operations;

  • Build Python-based automation tools for troubleshooting, remediation and diagnostics; 

  • Develop REST APIs and event-driven systems used by internal teams;

  • Automate ServiceNow workflows, ticket enrichment and communication pipelines;

  • Build anomaly detection and enrichment engines (statistics / ML-assisted);

  • Consolidate legacy scripts into scalable, secure automation platforms;

  • Collaborate with DevOps, SRE and Security teams;

  • Own features end-to-end (design → implementation → production support);

  • Act as a technical authority and best-practices beacon within the organization.

What you'll bring:

  • Strong Python development (primary language);

  • Experience with Ansible, Terraform;

  • Strong experience building and integrating REST APIs;

  • Experience with async / event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ);

  • Experience with PostgreSQL / MySQL / MongoDB;

  • Experience integrating with ServiceNow;

  • Strong Linux command-line skills;

  • Experience with Docker & Kubernetes;

  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Routing & switching fundamentals;

  • Git-based workflows;

  • Automated testing;

  • Production system ownership experience.

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience with network vendors (Juniper, Nokia, Ciena, Infinera, Cisco);

  • Experience with network orchestration platforms (Cisco NSO, Blue Planet, etc.);

  • Monitoring tools (SevOne, Nagios, Assure1);

  • Frontend (React / Next.js) for dashboards;

  • Statistics / anomaly detection / ML;

  • Perl (legacy automation);

  • Hands-on experience in network operations, NOC, ISP, or telecom environments;

  • Networking certifications (CCNA, JNCIP, etc.).
