Senior Software Engineer

We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to play a central role in building and scaling the technology that powers our fast growing platform. You’ll design and deliver high-performance backend systems that manage everything from payments and subscriptions to fulfillment and order tracking — ensuring our customers enjoy a seamless, reliable shopping experience every time. Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the architecture and scalability of Jiffy’s platform, ensuring low latency, high availability, and secure operations.
• Build and enhance APIs and data pipelines connecting product, billing, and fulfillment systems for consistent cross-service communication.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to deliver customer-facing features that improve conversion rates, retention, and checkout experience.
• Ensure data integrity and reliability across distributed systems through resilient workflows and monitoring.
• Partner with DevOps to automate deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure using modern DevOps tooling.
• Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and technical documentation to uphold engineering quality standards.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize backend services to handle increasing traffic and scale efficiently.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and internal frameworks.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
• 5+ years of experience in backend or full-stack software development
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Go, Java, Python, or Node.js)
• Experience building RESTful and event-driven microservices at scale
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, message queues, and caching systems
• Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in distributed systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in e-commerce
• Familiarity with subscription management, billing orchestration, or checkout optimization
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance (e.g., PCI, SOC 2)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Strong understanding of data modeling, API design, and asynchronous processing patterns
