The Role ClearPoint is seeking Senior Software Engineers with expertise in Full-Stack Development using modern Java (Spring Boot) & React to join our growing Software Engineering Practice. As our capabilities expand, we are partnering with clients across a diverse range of industries on innovative and impactful projects. As a Senior Software Engineer at ClearPoint, you will work within cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain high-quality software solutions. Depending on your level of experience, your role may span hands-on coding, solution design, and technical leadership. Our projects leverage modern software engineering practices, cloud-native development, and scalable microservices architectures. We are particularly looking for engineers who excel in building robust backends with the Spring ecosystem and responsive frontends with React. We also value engineers who are forward-thinking, whether that is adopting the latest Java LTS versions or exploring how AI tools can enhance development workflows. We are looking to hire for Engineers based in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. What We’re Looking For ● Demonstrated expertise in building scalable backends using Java 21+ and Spring Boot 3 +, utilising the wider Spring ecosystem including Cloud and Security. ● Strong proficiency with React (Hooks, Redux) and TypeScript, applying modern front-end engineering practices to deliver high-quality interfaces. ● Proven ability to design and build scalable microservices architectures and robust RESTful APIs, applying clean coding principles. ● Experience with or a strong curiosity towards AI-driven development, utilising tools like Copilot, Spring AI, or LangChain to enhance workflows. ● Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) utilising Hibernate/JPA for efficient data access. ● Experience implementing DevOps practices, containerisation with Docker or Kubernetes, and working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. ● Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing using frameworks such as JUnit 5, Testcontainers, and Cypress. ● Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience in consulting or client-facing environments.
