Senior Software Engineer - Growth and Incubation (Hybrid Working)

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer at Seek Asia, you'll drive technical excellence and innovation within our growth-focused engineering teams. You'll shape the architecture of our solutions while mentoring team members and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver exceptional products that serve millions of users.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable technical solutions that power growth initiatives across Seek Asia
• Champion engineering excellence through code quality, testing practices, and continuous delivery
• Design robust, secure systems that align with Seek's architectural principles and best practices
• Optimize platform health metrics including security, reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness
• Mentor junior engineers and elevate the team's technical capabilities
• Translate complex technical concepts into business impacts for stakeholders
• Balance immediate delivery priorities with long-term code sustainability

What You'll Bring

Technical Expertise

• Expert proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript 
• Demonstrated experience with our stack: Node.js, Express, GraphQL, React, Jest, and Apollo
• Strong background designing and building microservices and RESTful APIs
• Experience deploying and managing solutions on AWS infrastructure
• Proficiency in at least one additional modern programming language
• Mastery of secure coding practices and vulnerability mitigation

Engineering Approach

• Strong commitment to test-driven development and agile methodologies
• Experience building and maintaining efficient CI/CD pipelines
• Track record of delivering highly scalable, reliable applications
• Ability to make sound technical decisions that balance business needs with engineering excellence
• Familiarity with evolutionary architecture principles

Leadership & Collaboration

• Proven ability to mentor and develop engineering talent
• Experience partnering with stakeholders to understand business challenges
• Success working with geo-distributed teams and external partners
• Outstanding communication skills, particularly explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Strong prioritization skills and ability to plan for long-term team success
