This is a fully remote position within the United States. 

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our small, but growing AI team and help eliminate the financial complexity of healthcare. We’re looking to add 2 additional senior level engineers who are motivated by highly visible, high-impact work and are excited to build and operate AI-enabled systems that other teams rely on. You’ll take on complex technical challenges, work closely with partners across Product and Engineering, and help shape how AI is used across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate customer-facing features that are integrated into core product workflows
  • Build and maintain internal services that provide stable, reusable interfaces for other engineers
  • Bring AI workflows to production with observability, fallback strategies, and consideration for cost
  • Partner with product stakeholders to define when AI is appropriate vs exploring alternate solutions
  • Facilitate conversations between engineers and proactively communicate status and impact to avoid blockers

Here’s what you bring to the role:

  • 5+ years of production experience in Python (additional backend languages are a plus)
  • Prior experience shipping a complex system with significant customer impact
  • Familiarity with modern AI/ML tools and frameworks
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: you prioritize tasks with an eye for evolving business needs
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Excellent communication skills

Salary:

The starting salary range for this full-time position is $175,000-$195,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level, and reflect the minimum and maximum salary across all US locations (they are location agnostic). Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We will talk about compensation in our first conversation and be transparent throughout the process about which level we think is the best match for you in our organization. Please note that the salary range does not reflect total compensation, which includes base salary, benefits, and company stock options.
