The Platform Experience team sits as a bridge between Platform and Product engineering. We enable product teams to ship reliable code by partnering directly with developers to solve production challenges and with implementation of systematic improvements. We're central to Wealthsimple's reliability mission: when our products are reliable, clients trust us with their financial future. We focus on protecting critical flows, reducing time to detect and resolve incidents, and ensuring we learn from every issue to prevent recurrence.
Reporting to the Manager of Software Development, you'll work alongside a senior group of Software Developers to improve reliability across Wealthsimple's products. You'll take ownership of significant components and services, partnering with product teams to identify and resolve production issues. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full stack, contribute to platform primitives that make reliability the default, and help maintain Wealthsimple’s high standard for security, reliability and user experience.
Partner directly with product engineers to diagnose and resolve production issues, building solutions that prevent recurrence.
Take end-to-end ownership of system components, designing with reliability and maintainability as primary concerns.
Contribute to platform tools and frameworks that help all engineers ship reliably.
Collaborate with Platform, Product, and Data partners to align technical decisions with client needs.
Help establish technical standards and best practices for development at Wealthsimple.
6+ years of software development experience building products with demonstrated growth in technical scope and autonomy.
Experience in optimizing platform engineering and/or infrastructure.
Knowledge of 2 or more of the following languages: Ruby on Rails / TypeScript / Kotlin.
Experience using LLMs to drive broad changes across codebases (Claude).
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex issues across multiple systems and keen interest in getting to the root cause.
Experience designing and maintaining production systems with high availability requirements.
Strong communication and collaboration skills. You can explain complex technical concepts clearly and work effectively with stakeholders across different backgrounds.
