About the Role

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our team developing an innovative AI-powered customer experience platform. The project's first milestone is a prototype that integrates advanced Large Language Model (LLM) intelligence into conversational customer interactions, enabling proactive delivery updates, real-time tracking, and automated responses powered by Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, cloud infrastructure, and retail logistics, building a product that will redefine how businesses communicate with their customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain backend microservices and APIs for the customer experience platform prototype.
  • Integrate conversational messaging APIs with cloud-based backend services (API Gateway, Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB).
  • Implement a RAG pipeline using advanced LLM models for natural, contextual responses grounded in live logistics data.
  • Build connectors to logistics partners and brokers using cloud SDKs, event management tools, and message queue services.
  • Normalize and store tracking events in a canonical schema using relational or NoSQL databases.
  • Design and deploy event-driven workflows for proactive delivery notifications and customer engagement.
  • Apply prompt-engineering best practices, schema validation, and guardrails to ensure factual, safe, and policy-compliant LLM outputs.
  • Collaborate with AI/NLP specialists to optimize language model prompts and retrieval performance.
  • Implement observability and monitoring for latency, cost, and model quality metrics.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of backend software development (Node.js / TypeScript / Python).
  • Experience with AWS services: Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, CloudWatch.
  • Familiarity with LLM integration and RAG architectures (Llama 2/3, Bedrock, LangChain, or similar).
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs and webhooks in event-driven systems.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and JSON-schema validation.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and ETL processes in logistics or e-commerce domains.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in multilingual teams (Portuguese / English / Spanish).

Nice to Have:

  • Experience using AWS Bedrock for hosting and fine-tuning Llama models.
  • Familiarity with OpenSearch Serverless for vector search and RAG retrieval.
  • Exposure to AI safety / guardrails frameworks (Guardrails AI, Truss, LangChain JSONOutputParser).
  • Experience with WhatsApp Business API, Twilio, or conversational platforms.
  • Knowledge of Kinesis Data Streams or Kafka for high-volume event ingestion.
