Are you a passionate linguist with a love for video games and a knack for ensuring top-tier quality in localization? We're looking for a Senior Simplified Chinese > English US Language Specialist to join our in-house team, supporting a leading AAA game client - Blizzard® Entertainment.This is a senior-level role with a strong focus on linguistic quality, creative direction, and collaboration. You'll be shaping the voice and consistency of localized content across platforms, supporting both our internal teams and our client’s stakeholders. If you've worked on Blizzard IPs and love shaping how players experience games worldwide, we'd love to hear from you!
YOUR ROLE
- Oversee the translation, editing, and proofreading of English video game content from Simplified Chinese into English
- Act as linguistic quality owner for assigned projects and IPs
- Ensure consistency with established style guides, glossaries, and terminology
- Perform linguistic QA (LQA), including bug identification, classification, and follow-up
- Provide clear, constructive linguistic feedback to translators and vendors
- Support and guide external linguists, acting as a point of reference for quality and tone
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, QA, Audio, and Production teams
- Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and improvement of linguistic assets
- Represent linguistic quality in communication with client stakeholders
Your profile
- Native-level English speaker
- Strong proficiency in Simplified Chinese (Zh-CN) (written and spoken)
- Proven experience in video game localization, ideally in a senior linguistic or language specialist role
- Strong understanding of LQA workflows, bug severity, and quality standards
- Experience working with CAT tools (e.g. memoQ, Trados)
- Familiarity with Diablo, World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and Overwatch projects from Blizzard® Entertainment
- Experience with audio localization or subtitle review
- Experience working on AAA or live-service games
- Familiarity with bug-tracking tools such as JIRA
- Excellent attention to detail and a high bar for linguistic quality
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating in an international team
- Comfortable working in APAC time zones
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Genuine passion for video games
