The primary responsibilities of this role will include designing, developing, and supporting ServiceNow applications, workflows, catalog items, integrations, and the platform in general. The Senior ServiceNow Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of major ServiceNow features and modules. This role operates with some degree of autonomy, owning feature-level solutions and driving technical excellence within the team. The Senior Engineer also mentors junior engineers and administrators and works collaboratively with all team members while enforcing best practices within the platform. The incumbent will also collaborate across teams to ensure robust, scalable, and maintainable ServiceNow solutions that align with business needs and regulatory requirements. Your Role:
  • Feature Ownership & Delivery
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex ServiceNow features, modules, and integrations.
  • Own feature delivery from requirements gathering through deployment, ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, and implementation partners to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Technical Expertise & Best Practices
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in ServiceNow development, configuration, and integration.
  • Enforce coding standards, design patterns, and best practices within the team.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to peers and junior engineers.
  • Mentorship & Collaboration
  • Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and administrators, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, business analysts, and external vendors, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Participate in requirement gathering sessions and clarify technical risks and impacts.
  • Operational Excellence
  • Support release management, including application rollouts and upgrades.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring timely resolution and communication with business units.
  • Prepare clear technical documentation for system designs, configurations, and user guides.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current with ServiceNow platform updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Configuration Management
  • Support initiatives involving Service Mapping and CMDB/CSDM, contributing to configuration management and service modeling efforts as needed.
  • Assist with the implementation or optimization of ServiceNow modules related to IT operations and service management, leveraging knowledge of Service Mapping and CSDM principles when required.
  • Assist with the configuration, management, and day-to-day operations of the platform.

  • At least 4 years' experience as a ServiceNow Developer, with demonstrated progression in scope and impact.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Service Mapping and CMDB/CSDM is an asset; ability to contribute to related projects when required.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, REST/SOAP web services, XML, JSON, and database concepts.
  • Preferred certifications: Certified Application Developer (CAD), Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS), or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to mentor and collaborate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

    The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 2200-25 Ontario Street, Toronto, ON.
