Position Title: Senior ServiceNow Developer

 

Location: Remote - Colombia

 

What you will be doing:
As a Senior ServiceNow Developer, you will play a key role in designing, configuring, and optimizing enterprise-grade solutions on the ServiceNow platform. You will work across various modules—including Employee Center, HRSD Enterprise Plus, ITSM, ITAM, and ITOM—to deliver a modern, consumer-grade employee experience. This senior-level role is hands-on and highly collaborative: you will shape workflows, automation, and integrations while providing thought leadership to optimize the platform and identify technical debt. Beyond technical execution, you will mentor junior developers, facilitate requirement workshops, and act as a bridge between technical logic and business needs. Operating within an Agile SCRUM environment, you will deliver iterative value while keeping a strong focus on scalability, maintainability, and platform health.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Design, configure, and customize ServiceNow solutions across modules, including HRSD Enterprise Plus, CMDB, Hardware Asset Management, and custom-scoped applications.
  • Develop and maintain workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, and Flow Designer flows to improve end-user experience.
  • Design and customize UI Builder experiences and custom widgets, providing mentorship and best practice guidance to other developers.
  • Identify and address platform technical debt, proposing optimizations to ensure a scalable and reliable implementation.
  • Design, develop, POC, and troubleshoot integrations primarily with AWS (GAPI) and other enterprise systems using REST/SOAP, IntegrationHub, and MID Servers.
  • Configure and enhance HRSD capabilities (Onboarding/Offboarding, Lifecycle Events, Document Management, Agent Workspace with Now Assist, and MS Teams integrations).
  • Support and extend Now Assist capabilities (chatbot-driven use cases and Agent Workspace assist) within defined consumption guardrails.
  • Support ITAM and ITOM implementations (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management) to ensure alignment with ITSM processes.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and product owners with a customer-service mindset.
  • Participate in all agile ceremonies and assist with ServiceNow upgrade planning and execution across multi-instance environments (dev/test/prod).
Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Developer/Engineer (Senior level preferred).
  • Scripting: Advanced proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (Server-side/Client-side JavaScript and Glide APIs).
  • HRSD Expertise: Strong expertise with HRSD Enterprise Plus, including configuration of Onboarding and Lifecycle Events.
  • Core Modules: Proven experience implementing ITSM (Incident, Change, Request) and ITOM/ITAM (Discovery, Asset Management) in alignment with ITIL best practices.
  • App Development: Experience building custom-scoped applications using App Engine Studio.
  • Modern UI: Demonstrated ability to deliver portals using Service Portal and/or UI Builder (Now Experience).
  • Integrations: Hands-on experience with ServiceNow integrations via REST, SOAP, MID Servers, and IntegrationHub; experience with AWS (GAPI) or similar cloud systems is highly valued.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills and the ability to mentor others, drive requirement workshops, and remain balanced in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Methodology: Expert knowledge of SCRUM methodology and managing reliable deployment processes.

  • Frontend: Experience with JavaScript (Angular or React), HTML, and CSS for advanced UI customization.
  • AI: Experience expanding Now Assist capabilities within consumption guardrails.
  • Scale: Experience delivering solutions for large, global organizations with complex business units.
  • DevOps: Exposure to ServiceNow DevOps practices (Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) and Automated Test Framework (ATF).
