Position Title: Senior ServiceNow Developer

Location: Remote - Colombia

What you will be doing:
As a ServiceNow Developer, you will play a key role in designing, configuring, and optimizing enterprise-grade solutions on the ServiceNow platform. You will work across various modules, including Employee Center, HRSD Enterprise Plus, ITSM, ITAM, and ITOM, as well as custom-scoped applications, to deliver a modern, consumer-grade employee experience. This senior-level role is hands-on and highly collaborative: you will shape workflows, automation, integrations, and UI Builder components, provide technical guidance to other developers, identify and reduce technical debt, and contribute to platform best practices and governance. You will work closely with product owners, business analysts, process owners, and architects, operating within an agile SCRUM environment to deliver iterative value while keeping a strong focus on scalability, maintainability, and platform health. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Design, configure, and customize ServiceNow solutions across modules, including (but not limited to) Employee Center, HRSD Enterprise Plus, Incident Management, Change Management, Request Management, Service Catalog, Knowledge, CMDB, Hardware Asset Management, and custom-scoped applications.
  • Develop and maintain workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, Flow Designer flows, and other automation to implement robust request and case management processes and improve end-user experience.
  • Design, configure, and customize UI Builder experiences and custom widgets, and provide guidance to other developers on UI Builder best practices.
  • Identify and address platform technical debt, proposing improvements and optimizations to ensure a scalable, reliable, and maintainable ServiceNow implementation.
  • Design, develop, POC, and troubleshoot integrations primarily with AWS (GAPI) services, as well as other enterprise systems, using REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub spokes, MID Servers, and custom scripted integrations.
  • Configure and enhance HRSD Enterprise Plus capabilities across modules such as Onboarding/Offboarding, Employee Document Management, Agent Workspace with Now Assist, MS Teams integrations, and support planned Employee Center Pro features, including content publishing, employee news, dynamic microsites, M365 integrations, campaigns, content analytics, and feedback experiences.
  • Support and extend Now Assist capabilities, starting with chatbot-driven use cases and expanding functionality within defined consumption guardrails.
  • Support ITAM and ITOM implementations, ensuring alignment between Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and ITSM processes and data.
  • Follow and contribute to ITIL-aligned processes, ensuring that Incident, Change, and Request workflows are consistent, auditable, and clearly documented.
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies (daily standups, refinement, retrospectives, sprint planning) and collaborate closely with product owners and stakeholders to refine requirements and scope.
  • Assist with ServiceNow upgrades and work within the dev/test/prod environment, following consistent deployment processes to support reliable and reproducible releases
Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Developer/Engineer, including solution design, configuration, and scripting.
  • Advanced proficiency in ServiceNow scripting, utilizing both server-side and client-side JavaScript and the Glide APIs.
  • Strong expertise with HRSD Enterprise Plus, including the configuration and enhancement of HR service delivery capabilities.
  • Proven experience implementing and supporting ITSM processes (Incident, Change, and Request Management) in alignment with ITIL best practices.
  • Experience building and maintaining custom-scoped applications using App Engine Studio.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver modern self-service portals and employee experiences using Service Portal and/or UI Builder (Now Experience).
  • Strong hands-on experience with UI Builder, including creating custom widgets and providing guidance or mentorship to other developers on UI development.
  • Hands-on experience with ITAM (Hardware and Software Management) and ITOM modules such as Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining ServiceNow integrations via REST, SOAP, MID Servers, and IntegrationHub.
  • Experience working in an Agile SCRUM environment and managing deployments across multi-instance environments (dev/test/prod).
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to design pragmatic and scalable solutions.
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting integrations with AWS (GAPI) or similar cloud-based systems, including POCs and hands-on debugging

Desired Skills:
  • Frontend development experience with JavaScript (Angular or React), HTML, and CSS, particularly for customizing Service Portal or Experience UI components.
  • Experience expanding Now Assist capabilities (chatbot, Agent Workspace Assist, content-related assist) within consumption guardrails.
  • Experience delivering ServiceNow solutions for large, complex organizations with multiple business units and global user bases.
  • Familiarity with request workflow automation patterns beyond ITSM/HRSD (e.g., enterprise services, cross-department workflows).
  • Exposure to DevOps practices around ServiceNow (e.g., deployment pipelines, source control, automated tests), using tools such as Git, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with Automated Test Framework (ATF) or similar approaches for regression testing on the platform.
  • Relevant ServiceNow certifications (e.g., CSA, CAD, ITSM, HRSD, ITOM, ITAM)
