The Impact You Will Have: The primary goal of the Information Security team is to build trust with our rapidly growing customer base by ensuring the security of Sonar products and the hosting cloud platforms, while demonstrating that the Sonar organization meets stringent security standards. As a member of the Information Security team, you will be based in Sonar’s Austin office providing senior security expertise to engineering, senior management and, when needed, the incident management team. You will bring knowledge to assist the product, platform and infrastructure engineering teams to ensure the products and cloud platforms are designed, built, and maintained to Sonar’s high security standards. You will also bring offensive security knowledge to design and implement pen testing automation. Your positive contributions will significantly impact the growth of the business through Sonar’s “collective intelligence” mindset. What You Will Do Daily:
  • Secure by design: Collaborate with product engineering teams to design and implement secure solutions.
  • Secure by design: Review product architectures and cloud solutions, to ensure integration of security requirements.
  • Offensive security: Conduct internal and external security reviews, pen testing, and red team exercises. Procure, design, and implement offensive security tooling.
  • Offensive security: Manage external pen testing services and certifications.
  • Projects and Initiatives: Develop and implement security solutions through the strategic security plan including procurement, and implement new security tools or features.
  • Resolve security Issues: Investigate and resolve security issues detected in products and internal systems.
  • Resolve security Issues: Investigate and manage customer security concerns.
  • Security Incidents: Act as a security SME for security incidents
  • Threat Management: Review threat intelligence findings and analyse threat landscapes.
  • The Experience You Will Need:
  • You can demonstrate in-depth experience with cloud architectures, primarily AWS.
  • You can demonstrate in-depth  experience with application security assessments including code assessments and authN and authZ.
  • You can demonstrate extensive experience with pen testing, red team engagements and bug bounty programs.
  • You can demonstrate experience with assessing and securing AI, Agentic AI features.
  • You can demonstrate experience with vulnerability investigation and management.
  • You can demonstrate experience with threat modeling using frameworks like STRIDE.
  • You can demonstrate experience with cloud network and firewall policy management.
  • You can demonstrate some experience with coding, vibe-coding and scripting such as python, bash. 
  • Familiarity with Azure and GCP platforms, and Google Workspace are a plus.
