As a Cybersecurity Engineer you'll have the opportunity to work with industry leading technologies at scale to protect our products from an always evolving threat landscape. This hands-on position will be responsible for our end-to-end endpoint security controls and collaborate with other cross-functional teams to ensure central cybersecurity solutions are effective and in alignment with Nielsen’s strategic goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build, configure, and maintain internal cybersecurity controls related to AI technologies and processes.
- Provide cybersecurity guidance on the strategy and implementation of AI, with a focus on protecting sensitive data across all systems, including structured databases and unstructured data lakes.
- Develop scripts and automation for complex security workflows and integrations, leveraging languages like Python and tools like Ansible to enhance efficiency.
- Optimize AI, network, and system security tools by tuning policies for efficiency and accuracy to prevent false positives and enhance threat detection.
- Contribute to automation efforts to facilitate the secure deployment and configuration of cybersecurity technology both on-prem and in the cloud.
- Develop architecture diagrams and documentation for Nielsen’s security controls and processes, with a focus on comprehensive solutions that span on-premise, cloud, and AI/ML environments.
- Implement and manage network and system security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), web application firewalls (WAF), and Network Access Control (NAC) to protect enterprise infrastructure.
- Secure the AI/ML lifecycle, including protecting model training data, implementing controls to prevent adversarial attacks, and ensuring the integrity of generative AI applications.
- Troubleshoot escalated, high-impact cybersecurity problems across system and network layers.
- Remain current on cybersecurity technology, vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures, with a special focus on emerging threats to AI and machine learning models.
- Expertise in AI security methodologies and their implementation in complex environments.
- Proven scripting and automation experience (Python, Shell, Bash, Ansible, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing security standards and controls (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Deep experience with network and system security technologies such as firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco), IDS/IPS, WAFs, and Network Access Control (NAC).
- Experience in securing the AI/ML lifecycle, including data privacy, model integrity, and knowledge of frameworks like the OWASP Top 10 for LLMs.
- Experience leading projects from start to finish.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate complex technical details in a clear, understandable manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience providing and validating security requirements related to information system design, implementation, and business processes.
- Knowledge of common information security standards, such as ISO, CIS, and NIST.
- Relevant security certifications such as SANS/GIAC, CCIE Security, CAISP or OSCP.
- B.S. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity with 5+ Years of experience or
- M.S. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity with 3+ Years of experience or
- No degree 7-10+ Years of experience
