Role Summary:
As a QA, you will be responsible for quality of Network security content helping to protect millions of users worldwide from Network security threats and exploits. This role requires an ability to apply processes and procedures, as well as problem solving and critical thinking skills, to perform complex testing and automation activities to validate the content. The ideal candidate is passionate about computer network security and obsessed about quality with an attention to detail.
What you will do
- Design, develop and maintain test plans, scripts for functional and release testing
- Develop and maintain automation tests for content releases
- Build test beds as needed
- Design and develop test platform for various IPS/UTM products
- Maintain aligned communication with the team which includes quality, effectiveness, 3rd party test issues etc.,
- Ability to enforce people following documented operational processes
- Perform regular internal audits and fire drills to identify the gaps in processes
- Develop and maintain testing processes and documentation
- Participate in and, where necessary, lead incident response and after-action reporting activities
- Implement and continuously improve Operational, releases and quality processes
- Identify testing/automation requirements and present them to management
- Establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
What you will bring
- Over 6 years of experience in IPS Signature Development/Test (preferably on Snort or equivalent engine)
- Good understanding of various network and end-point security providing technologies such as conventional Firewalls, NGFWs, IDS/IPS, AV/UTM, Proxy Servers etc.
- Knowledge and experience in Snort IPS rules
- Knowledge and experience with test methodologies used in software development
- Knowledge and experience with networking and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge and experience with UNIX/Linux systems
- Knowledge and experience with Web technologies (HTTP, SSL)
- Proven understanding of common data structures and have good algorithmic skills
- Knowledge and experience with automation development using one or more languages (Python / Perl / Java / C/ C++/ Go / Ruby / JavaScript etc.)
- Knowledge of automation tools, infrastructure and framework and working experience on automating tests using various industry standard tools & markups (Robot, Junit, Jenkins, Selenium, Robot Framework, xPath, Yaml, JSON, REST)
- Bachelor/Master Degree in Engineering, Computer Science/Electronics OR Bachelor/Master of Computer Application
