We are hiring a Senior Scientist to support the development of new questionnaires on a range of health research topics. This is a key role which will enable us to significantly enhance the research value of the Our Future Health programme.

You will provide the expertise to design and develop these questionnaires, assess their validity, and support on scientific aspects of their implementation. As part of the Science team, you will also provide scientific support to other cross-functional teams within Our Future Health. Your duties will include: 

  • Working with the Science team and the research community to prioritise additional questionnaire content 
  • Leading analyses to assess the validity of questionnaires and the quality of data as it is acquired
  • Supporting cross-functional teams on scientific aspects of implementing new questionnaires  
  • Working with other teams to facilitate feedback and engagement with participants
  • Helping to develop new research data products to maximise their scientific value 

Requirements

  • Experience of developing and deploying large-scale surveys for health-related research
  • PhD and 3+ years of research or other experience working with questionnaires/surveys 
  • Practical proficiency in data analysis and a working knowledge of R, Python, or other common statistical analysis tools
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of cross-functional teams 
  • Excellent communication skills with scientific, technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Experience presenting research results, and an ability to represent the team at external meetings 
  • Enthusiasm for working in agile, cross-functional teams
  • Interest in developing scientific data products to support research user needs 
  • A pragmatic outlook and ability to prioritise
