At Lyterian Therapeutics, we are committed to developing medicines for patients in need by co-opting physiologically-relevant protein homeostatic mechanisms to regulate genetically-validated targets.
Position Summary:
As a Senior Scientist/Principal Scientist, Oncology, you will be a member of a highly driven, interdisciplinary team focused on new target development and mechanism determination. You will be responsible for the design, execution, interpretation, and troubleshooting of screening assays aimed to discover and characterize novel oncology targets. By collaborating closely with protein biochemists, biophysicists, structural biologists and chemists, you will uncover fundamental biology behind directed regulation of protein homeostasis for therapeutic targets.
Impact You'll Make:
Design and execute cell-based assays to interrogate target biology and advance our drug discovery programs
Use automation, high-content microscopy, and/or flow cytometry to develop our proprietary platform
Use functional genomics, proximity labeling, and/or chemoproteomics approaches to understand the mechanistic basis of hit compounds emerging from our proprietary platform
Develop and contribute to company's intellectual property (IP) domain by way of patents and/or publications
Stay up-to-date with emerging scientific literature and share your ideas liberally
Collaborate and communicate across a diverse scientific team to successfully progress Lyterian goals
Qualifications:
PhD in biology, biochemistry, or related field with 4-8 years of industrial or postdoctoral experience in drug discovery and/or cancer biology
Demonstrated expertise in mammalian cell culture techniques including transfection and transient or stable expression of recombinant proteins, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, plasmid design, siRNA and shRNA knockdown, cell proliferation and viability analysis
Demonstrated expertise in molecular biology techniques including but not limited to: in vitro enzymatic assays, IP assays, qPCR, western blots, FACS, IHC, ELISA, HTRF
RNA and protein isolation from tumor samples
Familiarity within vivo tumor models
Proficiency in analyzing data with GraphPad Prism and other analysis programs. Bioinformatics expertise is a plus
Keen analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to resolve routine issues using appropriate information
Evidence of scientific excellence and impact as illustrated by scientific publications and presentations
Understanding of the drug development process
