Senior Scientist - Electrophysiologist

AI overview

Contribute to groundbreaking insecticide research, leading experimental work on drug-protein interactions and resistance mechanisms using advanced electrophysiology techniques.

Understanding the mode of action of prototype insect-control solutions and the associated risks for non-target toxicity and resistance development are essential requirements for the development of new crop protection products. We're seeking an experienced electrophysiologist to join our innovative research team, focusing on groundbreaking insecticide research. The role will involve characterization of drug-protein interactions in cell-lines and cells in primary culture, exploration of physiological outcomes in pest and model invertebrates and investigations into the molecular basis of resistance and selectivity.  This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge scientific discoveries while working with state-of-the-art electrophysiology equipment and advanced microscopy techniques. You'll be part of a dynamic team that values scientific excellence and collaborative innovation.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead and execute complex experimental work in insect physiology and electrophysiology.
  • Design and implement research programs in collaboration with Bioscience colleagues.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data, providing expert insights and solutions.
