Senior Scientist - Custom Molecular Biology Services

AI overview

Lead innovative R&D projects in a dynamic team focused on custom molecular biology solutions for diverse applications including diagnostics and gene editing.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist to join our Molecular Biology research and testing team. This role is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing team and contribute to the development of its custom testing services.

The laboratory was initially established within the anti-doping sector to deliver gene doping testing services to national and international sports regulatory bodies, resulting in numerous publications in Nature Portfolio and other high-impact journals. In recognition of the analytical and informatic capabilities of the laboratory and the unique problem-solving expertise of the team, we are expanding our services to provide customised support for a range of bespoke applications including research, gene editing model characterisation, human and animal diagnostics, and genotyping.

The successful candidate is encouraged to drive innovation within the team. They will lead R&D projects and develop new service offerings for current and potential customers. The group recently developed methods for detecting gene doping in sport and created methods for species identification and confirming individual identity in forensic settings.
