THE ROLE: Senior Sales Manager:


EMJ is seeking a passionate and driven Senior Sales Manager to help expand our proudly B-Corp business in the Natural Channel and West Coast grocery markets. In this role, you will manage all aspects of our Natural Channel, as well as Albertsons, Winco, and other West Coast grocery, with support from Brokers. The goal is to strengthen EMJ’s relationships, gain acceptance for new innovations, develop off-shelf support, and ensure continuous growth. A proactive attitude and the ability to consistently perform in a values-driven company with frequently changing priorities are essential. The role requires making decisions and working independently, with guidance from the Sr. Director, while maintaining an efficiency and growth-oriented mindset. 


The Sr. Sales Manager reports directly to the Sr. Sales Director with additional support from Sales Planning, Shopper Marketing, broader Grocery team, and Broker Partners. Opportunities for new experiences to demonstrate leadership and growth are limitless.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Management

  • Shape sales strategy to ensure company sales targets and profitability goals are met.
  • Manage relationships with brokers and distributors, and oversee account management for key regional retailers, including presentation preparation.
  • Travel as needed to meet with brokers at key retailers to boost sales and expand distribution for Every Man Jack.
  • Collaborate with sales team members and the Sales Planning Director to enhance topline sales and develop the brand.
  • Provide timely feedback on performance and updates on initiatives.

Growth Driver:

  • Identify strategies for ongoing growth through sales velocity, new innovations, POD expansion, and effective promotions and displays to reach core consumers.

Cross-Functional Partnership:

  • Collaborate with brand, marketing, and e-commerce teams to increase brand visibility and work with supply chain and store operations for efficient inventory management and seamless execution.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and update annual budget forecasts monthly, using POS and order data alongside insights on promotions and competitive activity to drive growth while maintaining trade budget rates.


THE CANDIDATE:

Candidates must be highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills and experience working cross-functionally. While this candidate is driven and hits key milestones, also has a remarkable ability to remain calm and flexible in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, high growth collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be an intelligent team player – someone approachable with a positive, innovative and professional attitude who works smarter, not harder, and takes on a “sleeves-rolled-up” and a “can-do” attitude when faced with challenges. A true ambassador for EMJ, both internally and externally.


CAPABILITIES & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 5-10 years working in a sales role for a CPG company
  • 5+ years of recent experience working with national grocery retailers.
  • Must be results-oriented. Ability to think both strategically and tactically with a track record of taking ownership and driving meaningful results.
  • Ability to manage requirements for multiple projects working with peers offering clear prioritization, planning, and task delegation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to be held accountable for delivering superior results on time and on budget.
  • Team player possessing strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships, manage brokers & communicate with all levels of management.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to excel in remote sales environment with limited oversight.
  • Organized, positive, and high-energy individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to execute with high attention to detail. 
  • Proactive approach to anticipate issues and provide solutions.
