We are expanding our geographic footprint and seeking a senior, relationship-driven Account Executive based in Minneapolis to develop and grow our presence in the Upper Midwest and beyond.
This role represents a strategic investment in regional expansion.
Position Overview
This is a senior-level hunter role focused on generating new business, expanding regional relationships, and building a strong market presence in Minneapolis, Des Moines, and Kansas City, with periodic travel to other regions including the East Coast.
The ideal candidate brings at least 8 years of experience in complex B2B sales, preferably in cybersecurity, IT consulting, or technical professional services. They are comfortable engaging CISOs, CIOs, IT leadership, risk professionals, and executive teams.
This role requires independent pipeline development, in-person networking, and active participation in the regional cybersecurity community.

- We provide marketing and event support, including budget for regional meetups, hosted happy hours, conferences, and community engagement.
- Our events and operations teams assist with logistics and coordination for regional outreach.
- Leadership is directly accessible and invested in expanding this territory.

Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Develop and execute a territory growth strategy for the Upper Midwest.
- Generate new leads through cold outreach, referrals, events, and partner relationships.
- Schedule and conduct in-person and virtual sales meetings.
- Build and maintain a robust, self-generated pipeline.
- Meet or exceed revenue and new logo targets.
Relationship & Community Building
- Regularly attend and participate in cybersecurity meetups, conferences, and professional events in Minneapolis, Des Moines, and Kansas City.
- Establish relationships with CISOs, IT leaders, risk managers, and compliance professionals.
- Represent LMG Security as a trusted cybersecurity partner in the region.
- Host or coordinate regional events, happy hours, or executive roundtables as appropriate.
Consultative Sales Execution
- Lead complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
- Work closely with technical leadership to scope services such as penetration testing, advisory engagements, tabletop exercises, AI security assessments, and training.
- Manage proposals, pricing discussions, and contract negotiations.
- Maintain accurate forecasting and CRM documentation.
Channel & Strategic Partnerships
- Develop and maintain relationships with channel partners, insurance brokers, MSPs, technology vendors, and other referral sources.
- Identify strategic partnership opportunities to generate recurring and referral-based business.
- Manage and nurture partner-driven revenue streams.
Travel Expectations
- Frequent travel within the Upper Midwest.
- Occasional travel to East Coast and conferences.
- Periodic visits to company headquarters in Missoula, Montana.
Qualifications
Required
- 8+ years of experience in B2B technical sales.
- Demonstrated success in new business development (hunter role).
- Experience selling complex professional services or technical consulting engagements.
- Ability to independently build and manage a sales pipeline.
- Strong executive-level communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working with or selling to CISOs, CIOs, IT directors, or risk leaders.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the territory.
- Based in the Minneapolis metropolitan area or willing to relocate prior to start date.
Preferred
- Experience in cybersecurity, information security, or IT consulting.
- Existing relationships in the Minneapolis, Des Moines, or Kansas City markets.
- Experience managing channel or partner relationships.
- Familiarity with industries such as financial services, healthcare, or critical infrastructure.
