Location: This role will be located onsite at our office in Charlotte, NC.

Summary of Role

This role will be critical to the success of our accounting function. The position will be responsible for revenue related processes and technical accounting, including assisting with the valuation of unconsolidated investees. The position will also assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process as well as the preparation of the Company’s quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements. We are looking for someone with a strong accounting background, and a keen eye for detail, who is excited to make an impact, add value, and collaborate with a team in a fast-paced, ever-growing environment.

Strategic & Tactical

  • Ensure proper accounting for revenue arrangements, including detailed analysis of complex financial models. As part of this responsibility, the following are critical items that will need to be completed:
    • Review and documentation of key assumptions used in financial models
    • Preparation of process documentation of all revenue arrangements
    • Cash reconciliation process
    • Customer & vendor risk review
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop and implement policies for recognizing revenue from renewable energy projects, adhering to ASC 606.
  • Drive month-end close processes for timely and accurate reporting, including preparation of reconciliations and other close items as necessary
  • Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry-specific standards.
  • Preparation of GAAP disclosure checklists for all financial statement reporting
  • Assist in the preparation and support of external audits, including the documentation and testing of key controls.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes, with a focus on leveraging industry-specific software and tools.
  • Assist initiatives to improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting, including the implementation of new accounting standards and systems.
  • Document relevant technical accounting matters, including analysis of new business initiatives
  • Support special projects as necessary
  • Serve as liaison between accounting and finance teams

 

Qualifications & Skills Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with accounting major (or Master’s degree in Accounting)
  • Certified Public Accountant license or equivalent required
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with exposure to financial modeling. 
  • An energetic, proactive individual capable of succeeding in a fast-paced environment; ability to work comfortably with senior management
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Proficient Microsoft Office knowledge and skills
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles
  • High degree of attention to detail and analytic abilities
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Familiar with systems similar to our tech stack, which includes NetSuite, Stampli, GSuite, and more
