       About the role

       The successful candidate’s duties will include: 

      • Acting as Western’s face-to-face spokesperson with key audiences in their market including but not limited to prospective students and their families; Canadian embassy and consulate staff; international counsellors, Canadian colleagues responsible for international recruitment; and representatives of student recruitment agencies, governments, and businesses.
      • Dissemination of information about Western, including undergraduate-level programs offered to various stakeholders. This may also include graduate programming and English language programming
      • Localized regional promotion and brand-building activities;
      • Build and nurture relationships with study abroad agencies and counsellors;
      • Build and nurture relationships with high school guidance counsellors;
      • Follow up with prospective Western students throughout the recruitment cycle for conversion;
      • Collaboration with the admissions office for training/meetings;
      • Plan and deliver market activities that support the Western brand and reputation;
      • Identify and share higher education trends, particularly those impacting student mobility and overseas education, with a particular focus on trends that may impact Canada as a study destination.
      • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, contributing to shared goals and supporting colleagues as needed.

       

      The position involves frequent, sophisticated interaction with international clients, and significant travel time is required (40%).

       

      The Most Suitable Background

      • 5-7+ years of experience in increasingly responsible roles related to education or international education.
      • Proven track record of building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders to support student recruitment.
      • Experience representing an overseas institution will be an advantage.
      • Bachelor’s degree with good to strong academic performance. A master’s degree is a plus.
      • Strong English at a Professional Working Proficiency, including a high standard of business writing skills.
      • Study or experience abroad is strongly preferred. Canada-related experience would be an asset.
      • Voluntary or other life experience that demonstrates creativity, hard work, persistence, and a drive to succeed.
      • Proficiency in CRM systems (i.e. Salesforce, Zoho) for lead management, applicant tracking and reporting.
