Objectives of this Role
The Senior Quality Control Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through rigorous testing and debugging. This position will require a proactive approach to identifying bugs and other issues, and to collaborating with development teams to implement solutions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality and a keen eye for detail.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Testing: Conduct various types of testing including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing for software applications.
- Bug Reporting: Identify and document defects clearly and precisely using tracking tools like JIRA or similar.
- Test Automation: Design, implement, and maintain automated testing scripts to enhance testing efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers and product managers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software.
- Test Case Development: Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases and test plans.
- Produce testing reports and present findings to stakeholders.
- Documentation: Maintain documentation for testing processes, procedures, and results.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior QC engineers and assist in their professional growth.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in retrospectives and other efforts to improve testing practices and team processes.
- Identify root causes of quality issues and propose preventive actions.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and performance testing as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance/testing.
- In-depth knowledge of testing methodologies and processes.
- Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, QTP, or equivalent.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, C#, or Python.
- Solid experience with SQL and ability to analyze data.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality products.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
